check-in question

I have never stayed on a Disney property and was wondering what their check-in procedure was. We have 2 rooms in my name, does everyone have to be at the desk for check-in or can I check us all in? There are 3 adults and 2 children and we are on the My Way w/free dining package. The reason I'm asking is that the 3rd adult will be arriving later than us but we want to be able to get in the 2nd room (planning a surprise for one of the children and want to decorate). Will she need to go to the desk separately when she gets in later or will I have everything she needs? Thanks for the help...

You can check everyone in if you are paying for both rooms. They will all receive their resort cards with their name on it.

I've done this a couple of times. Once, everyone arrived on the same day but at different times (two cabins at Fort Wilderness). I was able to do one check in process and get everyone's room keys. I also got two sets of all the info stuff. One cabin was ready and it was for the party that wasn't there. But the Cast Member switched everything around so the available cabin was ours.

The second time, we were there a week before the other party (at All Star Music). On the day of their check in, I went down to the front desk and had no problem checking them in and getting their room keys. There room was connecting to ours so we had access to it before they got there.

You shouldn't have any problems at all.
