Has anyone ever checked in around midnight? We are taking a 7:30 pm flight from MN and won't get to Orlando until 11:15 pm. We will be taking Mickey Express to our Hotel. Is it a problem to check in so late? They won't give our reservation to someone else will they? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Call the resort directly and let them know that you are arriving late. The biggest problem might be getting any requests met. Did you make requests with your ressie?

It should not be the kind of problem you're asking about, but I'd call MS back and be sure they put a notation on your ressie that you will be arriving very late. If you get unlucky with the weather, you could get there well after midnight.

Where a late arrival like that may affect you is in your requests. They will have a room for you, but as people check in, they get whatever requests the front desk can fill at the time. DVC operates at close to 100% occupancy, so when you check in very late at night, they may not be able to meet all of your requests. Some stay offsite when arriving late and then check into DVC the next morning to try to avoid that particular problem. (I don't know if that really works, and I suspect the results are mixed.)

Thanks for the reply. Yes I did make requests for the type of room I wanted. We have a 2 bedroom villa and also a grand villa. Non-smoking and also overlooking Downtown Disney etc. Just concerned that we wont get the type of room we want. What is the latest you have ever checked in?

If you have a connecting flight, I'd keep the resort's direct number with me on the trip in case you hit a snag.

I was connecting through Chicago one time from Madison, WI and got stuck in Madison. Weather came in, O'Hare closed for four hours, and by the time they reopened, my crew was illegal on time and it was over for that day. I had to go back to a hotel and wait until the following morning.

If something like that happens to you, you will not arrive until the following afternoon, and if you don't call you run the risk of losing your whole ressie.

We have a non-stop flight, so we will be going directly to orlando from Mpls. No layovers or changing flights. I hate changing flight etc and will only ever go non-stop. I will call the resort directly and let them know my flight plans and late check in issue. They will have to know anyway due to me making a mickey express request, so hopefully they will know I will be coming in late ;)
Hopefully the flight leaves on time. I am not sure where it originates from. My brother works for the airline, so maybe he can clue me in to any problems.

June 23, our flight arrived at 11:50 pm. Got on the ME bus, didn't touch the luggage. There were 3 people on duty when we got to the hotel about 40 minutes later. They will have someone bring your luggage late, but I chose to have them wait until the next morning. I don't think the luggage travelled with us on the bus. Next morning I called the desk and within 5 minutes are luggage was there. Actually ME at midnight was really neat because there were so few people arriving. There couldn't have been more than 12-15 people on the bus.

Hey didn't I read somewhere that Disney allocated rooms for ME members when they checked in at the airport? Something about they "knew you were on your way" status.

Anyway I have checked in at 1:00am in the past (airplane machanical issues) and got one of the best rooms ever for that trip. BUT I did call ahead to inform MS that I was running late. Maybe that is the trick!
