Check-In process at POR

We arrive in 8 days via our car. When we arrive at the hotel...

1. Is there valet parking?
2. Is there a bellhop to take all our luggage out of the car?
3. If so, do they follow you in to check-in or do you call for them when you receive your room?
4. Does it take a long time t get your luggage in your room?

Oh so many questions!

Once inside...
1. Is there an online check in line?
2. If so, is it much shorter?

Finally...
We arrive a week from tomorrow, when should we fax in our room request?

1. Nope
2. Bellhop? No, but there may be someone there to help you if you pull up the front entrance to the resort.
3. No, they don't follow you. They will hold the luggage for you and you can call them from your room and they will bring it to you.
4. Hard to say. It's more of a Luggage Assistance dept not Bell Services like the deluxe resorts have. So they may not show up immediately. Could take a little bit for them to get to you

I can't remember but I'm sure there is. I have found the online checkin line to actually be longer but it goes more quickly.

Faxing requests? They don't accept them anymore. Haven't for years. YOu need to add requests when you book. Oh, and online checkin can be done much sooner than 10 days prior..it's more like a month prior now.


If you have a car, why not just leave your bags in the car until you get your room number? Then, drive the car to the lot that is close to your building and unload the bags at that time?

We sent a fax to POR I believe 4-5 days prior to check-in. Go over to the POR thread and they have the fax number and more information there.

Port Orleans still accepts (and mostly honors) fax requests. Head over to the POR thread for more info.

Online check in is available 60 days out, now.

I can also confirm that POR/POFQ is now accepting fax requests again.

Yes there is an online check-in line that is separate but in our experience, it wasn't any shorter than the regular one.

I faxed in requests back in Dec about 5 days prior to arrival, all three of my requests were met and room was even ready!! I was shocked b/c it was week if Christmas!!
