Check-In Parking at Kidani Village

Looking at Google maps aerial view, I can see that there are some parking spaces between the porte cochere at Kidani Village and the fitness center. Are those short term parking spaces for check in or only for valet parking?

How about access to the parking spaces between the building and the pool area? I can't see an access ramp to it.

We just park under the portico when checking in. It's not a problem to leave the car there shortly. We usually get out, give our luggage to bell services, go in and check-in, come back and move the car wherever we need to (which @ Kidani was in the underground garage).

I have never looked @ an aerial view, but I don't really recall any parking spaces from the Kidani lobby area to the pool / fitness center - we walked that way a few times and never noticed any cars parked along there - it didn't seem like a parking area, just the driveway.

That's the area I mean (circled in yellow):

You can't access that parking from the check-in lobby driveway area. I could see that parking when walking down to the pool through the foliage. I do not know if that is guest parking or not - it might be CM parking or something. You can't actually see that from what I recall from the main driveway, only vaguely walking down to the pool.

Based on the photo, I'm taking a wild guess that the only way to access that area is by driving the entire way through the underground parking garage. We parked on the other side of the lobby in the garage.

Yes the parking area in front of the porte cochere is short-term. We always park there when checking in. It's just a short walk from there to the lobby.

The parking area you circled is actually on a different level than the lobby. The lobby is on the 2nd floor of the building, that parking area is on the ground level and is reachable only by driving through the under-building parking. I rarely see any cars parked there since I expect most people prefer to park under the building. It would not be convenient to park there when checking in.

We were just there. The area just South of where you circled is short term check-in parking. You can see a lot of cars parked there on your map. Just look at the main lobby building and trace left.

If you have any questions, just pull up to valet and ask, that's what we did.

Thanks!

I requested a pool view room, so I hope to be in the first building near the pool and tried to figure out where to park (after checking in)

So is the entire ground floor under both wings a parking garage or does it stop before?

The under-building parking does not go all the way to the end. I think it stops at the far end of the ground level parking that you circled on the photo.

Sanaa and the cocktail lounge are also on the ground floor but not accessible from the parking area.

So how easy or difficult is it usually to find a parking spot there? Does it get really crowded with all the people from that huge wing who want to park there?

We never had any problem finding a spot in the garage within maybe 10 cars from the elevator when we were there. Honestly, I think you're overthinking it - parking @ Kidani is like the best anywhere.

When you check in, they will tell you exactly where to park to be closest to the elevator that's closest to your room - the parking garage has all named sections and they will tell you which one to go to.

You are right of course, but I'm all done with my travel planning, so I'm getting bored and try to find any additional information I can.

It already gets so bad that I already start to book stuff for the next vacation which is only in September.

;)

What is stated above is incorrect. That under building parking does go to the end of that north wing (and it also goes to the end of the south wing). The entrance to (and exit from) all under-building parking and parking on the ground floor that you marked in your picture is towards the end of the south wing which is mainly missing from your picture. As you are coming into the Kidani section of the resort from the south you will hit, long before you get to the front door area, a stop sign from which you can either go straight (to the front door/check-in area) or turn right and go into the under building parking lot.

Thanks! I think I remember that stop sign from when I walked from Jambo House to Kidani in May. Is it at the cross section where the grill pavillion and the tennis court is? Quite a way from the lobby entrance.

When I posted earlier I was thinking that the outside parking was close to the last elevator in the north wing but now that I look at the Kidani building map I see that that is not the case. You are correct (and thanks for correcting the info I posted) that the under-building parking does extend past that outside parking area.

I didn't think it went all the way to the end though. Doesn't it stop just past the last elevator in the north wing?

The last elevator is two billets short of the end and the parking itself goes to the end. I know because I stayed in a room that was only a room short of the end for which parking was great but if you wanted to walk to the lobby you needed to call ahead and let anyone there know you would not see them until the 'morrow.
