Check in on Sunday at the Vistana.

Hello!
I was wondering if anyone could help me. I am trying to figure out where our room may be. We are booked from May 22-May 29 which means our check in is on a Sunday. I have no idea where we are going to be and I am kinda concerned. We reserved the room through my in-laws timeshare with RCI. So I don't know if that puts us as owners or not?? I would like a room with a view of a pool we have small children and was wondering could anyone give me some in sight on how to make that happen. I plan on doing the diamond check in but it says i can't do that until 72 hours before we leave. Should I call RCI to see if I can get a room #? Pleae help the suspence is killing me!!!

are you staying at Vistana Resort or Vistana Villages?

If you are staying at the main Vistana resort you could get the Falls, Palms, Springs, Fountains I or II, Lakes or Cascades. There are very few pool-front views for check-in on a Sunday. There's a couple of Cascades buildings that are across the road from the pool, also Lakes has one pool-front building for Sunday arrival. But that's about it. I'd make my requests known either through whoever you booked or via the Diamond Lane form : https://www.svosecure.com/starwoodvo/diamond.jsp?resortID=5
If your in-laws reserved thru RCI (i.e. exchanged into Vistana), then "no" that does not give you owner status. I don't think RCI will give you a room number---they leave that up to the resort. Even if you do have a "room assignment", Vistana doesn't necessarily abide by this. I suggest you fill out the Diamond Lane and get to the resort as early as possible to check-in before all the prime rooms are given out. Good luck

Hey, I'm checking in the same day!! We also went through RCI. I called 1-800-VISTANA because I could not sign up for the Diamond Lane online. I explained to the person who answered that I needed to sign up for Diamond Lane, I told him our check in date and that I needed to be in a building with elevators, because I had arthroscopic surgery on both knees and stairs are a problem. He was very helpful, signed me up and told me we would be in the "Lakes" section.

I am so excited I also booked Buena Vista Suites for Friday & Saturday giving me 2 extra days in the parks!!!

13 days to go!! WooHoo!!!
