How long does it usually take to get your Check In guest information approved

It was a couple of weeks for me after I entered all of ours. I thought maybe something was wrong but eventually it said approved.

Several weeks. Usually, I have approval the week before the cruise. But don't worry. Anything that has not been approved (Passport, headshot...) can be presented at port and approved there. Sometimes the system is wonky and finds a reason (glare...whatever) to not approve. Have a great cruise!

Some cruises it takes days. Some cruises, it takes weeks. DCL will let you know if something needs to be resubmitted. I had to resubmit a headshot that had been approved on 10+ prior cruises. Crazy.

^^ this just happened to me. Same photo I used less than a year ago for my Med trip. And when I checked it later in the day, the new photo I had uploaded didn't take. DCL website foolishness. I leave in a week. I'm sure it will sort itself out, but I may give them a call by Monday

Last week as we were checking in they took another headshot of me because mine was at a slight angle. They approved my online check in. So if they want a better photo they can do it right there. And this was the check in as we stepped on the ship.

I was lucky this time around. I submitted new head shots for my upcoming Med cruise in May and it was approve within 48 hours. First time this happened.I understand that the documentation is reviewd by a Castmember, and also read that they want a new head shot for each cruise. (Can't recall where I read this)
Since we started sailing again after the pandemic, I was using the same head shot for my cruises from 2022 to 2024, so this time around we took new headshots. They were not approved so I had to re-submit.
Was I just lucky or is it true that DCL will not accept the same headshots, I really don't know. We have a 5 night Bahamian in August, 2025 and another sailing to in September for a Western Med, so we shall see.

Technically, your ID photo is supposed to be from the last 6 months. I've definitely reused mine, and I'm not sure how DCL would ever know so I don't think that's why they're getting denied. But just pointing that out for others, that is part of the instructions.

I’ve been using the same headshot since sailing resumed in 2021. Has been approved for the 12 sailings we have taken plus the 4 we had to cancel last minute when we had Covid.

I don't think you need a new headshot every cruise, but I believe your headshot has to have been taken within the last 6 months.

I highly doubt the people doing the check are looking back in peoples' accounts to compare against previous headshots (to see if they're the same). I think they're just checking to be sure the headshot meets the guidelines.
