I've read posts from a few people who have had to wait until late in the evening to check into their rooms. It scares me to hear that some people have waited until 9:00-10:30pm before having access to their room. Maybe I've been lucky but I've never waited any later than 3:30 to enter my room. This is saying a lot because we visit about 6 times a year. I've also been fortunate enough to check in early on several occasions. In fact, we were able to check into the Contemporary one trip at 8:00am. We also checked into a Studio at Wilderness Lodge Villas at 10:00am during Martin Luther King weekend this past January. I'm curious to know how many have waited until well after 4:00 to get into their rooms. If so, what resort did you experience this difficulty?

Only problem I have had was Vero Beach day before Easter. Didn't get our room until 5pm, well it would have been 6pm but they switched rooms for us. I have no clue what was going on, the room we did get just had the carpet cleaned. Never have had a problem at WDW.

In 11 years we have only had to wait past 4:00 pm and that was at BWV years ago. It was about 5:30 pm before the room was ready. I think you just heard more of the bad experiences here because no one is going to make a post just to alert everyone that they got their room at 1:00 pm.

We have always gotten our DVC room by 4:00pm. The only problem with check-in we have ever had over the years, was at BC (the hotel, not the villas), we didn't get into our hotel room until after 5:00 pm.

In ten years we have only once had to wait until after 4pm to get our room. I would say 70% of the time we get our room before 2pm and 40% of the time we get it before noon.

In over 8 years, I've never waited past 4:00pm.

For it to go past 5:00 or 6:00, there would have to be some kind of maintenance issue, regular housekeeping leaves before then.

We have only had to wait until 6 once, and that was when the people ahead of us made a horrible mess. The carpets were stil damp in a few spots when we got in. It was a 2 bedroom unit, and the appliances looked like someone had been kicking them. My immediate reaction was that someone had one heck of a party!

Normally we get our room when we show up. Last time we had to wait until almost 3:00.

No matter what resort nor the time of year have I ever gotten a room later than 3:30pm if I arrived early. I've never had to wait for a room. I did however, get room keys that didn't work but that's another story and a quick trip to HH took care of it.

On our trip this past week our studio was available as soon as we checked in (4ish I believe) and when we switched rooms to a two bedroom for the later portion of our vacation it was ready at 1100am.

I had to wait once at BCV past four. Long story but I finally got a manger involved LOL! (The front desk sent me to a room that was occupied!!!!)

In ten years we have only once had to wait until after 4pm to get our room. I would say 70% of the time we get our room before 2pm and 40% of the time we get it before noon.

I'd say our percentages are about the same.

We generally arrive around 11 and our room is not ready. Then I ask what is available and take that.
