I'm sure this has been asked a zillion times so I apologize in advance. Let's say I arrive at the resort around 11am. I know check-in doesn't officially start until 3pm. Can I still get my room key so that we can eat lunch, and can we use the pool until our room is ready?

If you are checking into DVC villas, check in time is after 4PM.

But you can always check in anytime after about 7AM, get your room ID (which could have your park tickets and/or Disney Dining Plan already on it). You can use the pool, go to the parks, have fun. Your room might be ready as soon as you check in, but if it's not, have fun.

We're staying at POFQ. I was wondering if I could get my room key early, even if the room wasn't ready. Thanks!!

Yes. At any of the official WDW resorts--and that includes POFQ.

You might want to have a carry-on or other small bag packed with swimsuits, sunblock or anything else you might want until you're able to access your room. :)

We've arrived around 11:00 on our last three trips and our room has been ready each time. So it's possible yours could be ready. If not you can check in and go have fun until it is.

i was wondering this myself. We are staying at Pop and will arrive around 8 am. I know our room will not be ready but wanted to be able to go ahead and get our room keys and site see around WDW.

You can check in any time you want that morning. You'll get everything done and have your room key and your tickets if you have a package. If your room isn't ready, you call back for the number. You will NOT have to go back to the front desk. The Disney magic automatically activates your room key so it'll work once the room is ready (not kidding).

We just got back, checked in at Pop Century around noon, our room wasn't ready (I had requested a king bed so that was not unusual for the room not to be ready), got everything done, turned around and went to Epcot for the rest of the day. Called during a snack break and got our room number. Came back later that night and went right to the room.

Last year we arrived at the Polynesian at 8:00AM on a Sunday morning.

We were checked into our room with our tickets etc. and were off on the monorail to MK and riding Space Mountain when it opened at 9:00AM.

There is no guarantee your room will be ready but they will give you your room keys (tickets) and hold your bags for you if it isn't.
