Hello everyone!

I am going back to WDW in August and am 2 days away from being able to schedule my ADRs. This is my first time using the dining plan and I'm unsure as to how it works. I have two questions:

1) We are staying 7 nights and 8 days. I opted to get tickets to the parks for 7 days instead of 8. The day we check out I was planning on just going to DTD or maybe to a resort for lunch, but I'm not sure if the dining plan will be active that day or if I will be paying OOP on that day?

2) We have 2 confirmed travelers, but might have as many as 4. Can I make ADRs for 4 and drop 2 if the other 2 don't go or should I make the ADRs for 2 and hope that I can add if needed?

Help! lol Thanks in advance for any insight. I searched but couldn't find those particular answers.

I can answer the first question, but not the second,

Dining credits are available as soon as you check in (you can do this as early as 6:00 a.m. even if room isn't ready) and are good until midnight of the day you check out. So as long as you have credits left, you can still use them on check-out day.

I'll answer part 2 lol.
Make your ADR's for 4 and then let the podium know at check in that's it's only 2. Unless it's a prepay like CRT or a dinner show then I'd only make them for the confirmed guests and then try to increase it prior to going

Awesome! Thank you both! So, what I'm getting is that I have 8 days to use 7 days worth of dining, right? And.... I will not be charged if I reduce my ADR from 4 people to 2 people at regular TS restaurants (not CRT or Dinner shows) right at the podium? :yay:

It's always easier to show up at the restaurant with fewer people. If you have a res for 2 and 4 show up, most times you'll be okay, but there is always the possibility that the extra people will not be seated because the restaurant might be at capacity and safety and fire code won't allow additional people or the restaurant is running behind schedule and will only accept the # on the res.
