Check in - 2 rooms question...

Hoping someone might have experience with this... DH and I are heading down in September. We have booked two studio rooms (one for DH and myself and the other for my parents). DH and I are arriving at 10:30 am on Tuesday, our check in day. My parents are arriving the same day at 9:30 AT NIGHT. Both ressies are booked on my DVC member ID. When DH and I check in earlier that day, will we be able to check in for both rooms? I figure that is the best chance we have at getting rooms that are fairly close to each other. Since the ressies are under my DVC member, I thought I might be able to check in both rooms. But the room itself has my parents name on it.... Any thought as to how I might be able to make this work? Thanks!

You will have to have your name added to the reservation for your parents if you want to check in for them. Only the person(s) listed on the reservation can check in. Just give MS a call and they will be glad to add your name for you.

We've had instances at OKW where one part of our party arrives early, and another later in the day, in a separate room. We've always requested the room be "near" each other, and we never had a problem. I've never checked-in for the other party. The front desk "blocked" a nearby room for them and held it.

Rememeber, if you are getting the DDP, you do NOT want to add your name to their reservation, as you'd need to pay for the DDP for the "extra" person. If you don't have the DDP, and want to check-in for them, do as Carol suggests and add your name to thir reservation.

I have had MS add my name to another of our ressies for check in purposes only. You can make it clear to them that you are not adding yourself into the occupancy of the room, just allowing yourself the ability to check into the room, if necessary upon arrival. The DDP would not be an issue of course in doing this.
