Has anyone in TX ever been able to get the AAA Discount Tickets or Blue Diamond Parking sticker form their local office? Why are we NOT afforded the same advantages and discounts of other States?? I can't remember being this mad!!:headache:

I know how you feel cause I live in Kentucky and we never get discounts on Universal tickets or Disney but if you have AAA card you still get the discounts by showing your card and sometimes wonder if its even worth it :headache:

Blue Diamond parking is only when you book a package thru AAA.. and as far as the discounts for the theme parks, you can get them. You have to purchase your tkts in Fl. There are several AAA sites (Orlando has one) that you can go to, show them your AAA membership card and get the same discount as "other states". It may be a pain to do it, but they have it.. and to be honest, sometimes it isn't worth it.. not for a few $$$ unless you are purchasing several tkts.

I buy discount tickets in Massachusetts from anyone of our local AAA...ALSO,
We have been giving the Diamond Pass without purchasing a package... just tickets.:thumbsup2
When we waited to get to Florida...We could not get any discount..Except for those little booths selling used tickets. I didn't go near those places...creepy.:scared1:

Also...Did you try going online at aaa.com has discount tickets for sale.

I am not sure how you can say "never get discounts" :confused3 There are many "offers" that Disney & Universal have & they apply to all. If you are speaking about FL Resident pass's that is a different story. They get them due to the fact they can go on a whim at times, go very often & also have to put up with things the "visitor" to the State really doesn't. These theme parks bring many "visitor's" to the State and the Floridians have to pay year round for the use of the roads in gas tax.. visitors do not.. The residents who live in the Orlando area also have to put up with the extra traffic that clogs the I-4 Interstate when going to work.. I don't mean to sound like I am jumping on your for your comment, but merely pointing some things out that many do not realize.. they just see that Fl Residents get discounts. While one loves to visit Orlando, would you want to travel that road every day to get to work, school or shopping?

I don't live in Orlando, but in a different part of the State that has a high tourist traffic in the winter & I can tell you it is horrible. Just to get into see a doctor is much harder when our County is "in season"..

Usually you have to book a Disney package deal through AAA to get the Diamond Parking Pass. There are some offices that will give them to members if they ask. As far as the discount tickets for Universal we just went to our local office and asked for them. Unfortunately they are probably no longer available since Universal raised their prices. You can use your AAA card at the restaurants, food carts, and several stores in Universal/IOA for a 10 percent discount as well as several restaurants in City Walk.

In any case it's highly unlike that AAA is the culprit. AAA exists to make money. If there is something they can't offer you it's far more likely that the reason is due to a state government regulation forbidding it than some AAA conspiracy to make Texans feel inferior to the rest of the country.

Well every time I go to the AAA site and look up tickets for Universal or Disney it gives me the same prices as the Universal and disney sites and yes thats logged on to my user page at AAA.
But not going to complain about it we go wether we get the discount or not :thumbsup2

Wait! I get a Diamond Parking pass in my Disney papers from AAA. Can I use it as US too??!

So they have trams inside the parking garage? Wow, it must be huge. I'm excited to try out IS and IOA for the first time.

There are no trams at Universal. You park in the garage and walk to the parks. There are moving sidewalks to assist if any guest needs it.

the way it was explained to me is the regional AAAs are basically TAs licensing the AAA name/buying power, etc. for discounts

as such, it's up to the individual TA to decide what discount (if anything) they are willing offer above the nationaly discounted one that all the AAAs receive or any residency/senior offers

my AAA (eastern) does advance purchase of room blocks. Currently offering a couple of the onsite hotels for my dates approx $20 less than the normal AAA discount. Catch is the rooms are prepaid in full & non refundable, run of the house type.
