Cheaptickets questions - adding guests later

I'd like to pull the trigger on a room-only booking at an AoA suite via cheaptickets, but am not sure yet who the other guests will be (two of us are for sure). If I book and list only the two for-sure guests, can I add more guests later? I assume I have to add them via cheaptickets, not by talking to Disney?

Also, cheaptickets seems to be trying to charge for an extra adult if I list 2 adults, 1 kid. The for-sure guests are 1 adult, 1 kid, so I won't be paying extra at this point, but does anyone know if this is a glitch or if cheaptickets will actually charge for kids as if they were adults? (I am potentially adding two more adults and one more kid to the suite.) If we end up with 3 adults, 2 children, I don't want to pay for three extra people instead of one!

Any special reason you aren't booking direct with Disney ?
I am not a fan of booking with third party sites, a Disney Holiday is very different than just booking a Hotel Room anywhere else in the World. They have their own policies and not as easy to deal with, IN My Experience, as Disney Direct or an Official Disney Travel Agent

I can save several hundred via cheaptickets, so if possible I'd like to take advantage of that.
Has anyone tried adding guests after booking with cheaptickets?

I would suggest you call cheaptickets and ask beforehand. Like the other poster said they have their own policies.

Yes, I have done this through Orbitz. Orbitz owns cheap tickets their sites are very much alike. I remember someone on the Disboards had mentioned it was cheaper to just book for two people, then add the kids later. I did this with no issues, when I called to add extra people I just had to call Orbitz, they put me on hold while they called the hotel directly and it was easy and painless. To add the magical express, I had to ask orbitz for my Disney reservation number, a different reservation number than what Orbitz sent me then I was able to make changes online. I found that the little extra work was worth it to save a few hundred dollars.

I thought booking directly with Disney usually had the best deal? Is there an inside secret to getting a better deal on a third party?

Usually book with a public discount or AP discount directly with Disney is the cheapest thing to do on a room only discount. 3rd party sites are often cheaper than Disney's rack rates but most of us here on the DisBoards don't book using full rack rates.

Occasionally a 3rd party site may have a room rate cheaper than Disney's discounted rates. If you do book through a 3rd party site be sure you understand all of the rules for booking with them.

I don't know if this is typical, but right now cheaptickets (and its related site Orbitz) have % off codes that stack with the room-only discount currently being offered by Disney. So, first my AoA suite got the 15% Disney discount, then it got another 20% off from cheaptickets. Ends up as just about 30% off rack, so twice the discount I'd get booking direct. Still cancelable with full refund until 5 days from arrival, and I had no trouble linking the reservation in MDE. The cheaptickets code was SPARKLE, can't recall the Orbitz one but I'm pretty sure they are currently doing 15% off.
Beware buying MYW tickets using Orbitz or cheaptickets, though - I've read here on the DIS that these are vouchers valid only for your travel dates - no refund possible, and cannot be used for another trip if your plans change. Oh, and I have no idea if you can add DDP - not relevant for me.

Also, if you go through an ebates link, you get a further % back. Can still use all other discount codes.

Yesterday: Cancelled AKL reservation with Disney (35% RO discount) to get the extra discount with Orbitz. Then heard about a larger discount with Cheaptickets. "Sparkle" discount was $263.65...that's 2-1/2 nice dinners. How could we not?? Each reservation linked just fine and Orbitz cancelled and was not on MDE almost instantly. My daughter just went in November having booked with a similar discount through Travelocity with no problem. We had to cancel our room for November through Travelocity and it was no problem at all. All of these reservations were Room Only with no add-on's.

Wanted to add that none of the websites asked for anyone's name other than my own or wanted to charge me more. I added my DH name when I linked the reservation at MDE

How were you able to add him with MDE? I just booked with United Points. The reservation linked to MDE no problem, but I am trying to add a child and I am having a terrible time!

United's site only allows reservations for 4. I booked POR which I know will allow the 5 of us (2 adults, 3 kids). It's where we always stay, no problem. However, United is saying they cant add the 5th and Disney is saying they cant change it...call United.

I'm very stressed out. I know it is legit for the 5 of us to stay at POR (Alligator Bayou). I am not trying to "scam" anything. But, I want to be able to book FP + for all 5 of us...not just 4 of us. And, I dont want to feel like I am sneaking anyone -- I purposely stay at POR because it allows the 5 of us...

Any advice? How did you manage to add names??

Thanks!!

This is the same scenario I'm facing, but with Orbitz. Any chance you could let us know how this turned out?

Maybe they just think of how many people and 2 adults plus a kid is 3.
