cheapest way to get to Disney

I hate long car trips and don't like highway driving. It would be a two day drive from where we live. I'm not spending four days of my vacation even more stressed than usual.

Flying out of our local airport is very expensive, and we are stuck with the school vacations, when airfares are higher than usual. Still, I'd rather go less frequently than to drive to FL.

I can't think of a place in the continental US that would be a four DAY drive from Orlando, but only a few hour flight.

I can only imagine that you live on the west coast, are only counting time actually in the air, and you meant to type 'I can be there OR back in five hours'.

I meant a 2 day drive each way. We are 24 hours (give or take) from Fl.

MCO is a two and a half hour flight from our airport.

We drove for our first trip in June 2010.... it was fairly last minute and a "budget" trip. After we got home, I told dh that if we cannot afford to fly to Disney, then we will not be going back. He agreed. The funny thing is, the boys did fine on the drive (15 hours each) it was us that hated it.

Now, if we could take a 2 week (or more) trip to the Orlando area, we would consider driving again.... stop along the way more... but since dh can only really take a week off at at time, we will be flying exclusively for the foreseeable future.
