I'm buying a dream AP in Feb and am considering a 2 day trip in the summer to make use of it. If I bring a friend with no AP, what's the cheapest way to do this?

1 and 2 day park tickets are quite expensive. would we be better off onsite?

How does the AP discount work for onsite hotels? I know it's 35% off but do I have to book two of us in to get that? I'm going goggle-eyed looking at it all!

I've just posted in your PTR at that time of year the have a bring a friend offer I belive it was about. €27 a day last summer I friend of mine used in august to take her dd.
Hope it's on next year too.
You know where I I'm if you get lost lol

the AP discount for onsite rooms isn't 35% off - its up to 35% off, specific hotels on specific dates. Its pants to be honest, even if you do get 35% off the room its 35% off the full rate, which is set stupidly high to start with (ie over 130 euros per night per room for the Santa Fe in low low season).

In summer, with the prices of the onsite hotels even with a discount offer and including park tickets for one of you, I think you'd get better value staying offsite but nearby, and using your AP to buy your friend park tickets for 2 days.

Thanks!
Oh it's so confusing! If we could get €27 day tickets that would be brilliant. Is that limited to 1 park?

2 parks :)
I agree about the 35 percent Elaine it's a bit pants but I have booked 2 nights in a family room for February coming for not a bad price as it's for 5 off us.
I'm going to ring about a one night ap stay in December for the HNY to see the dif of adding a extra night have a big next Christmas plan lol.
You need your ap number to get the discount prices to.
I friend got a £111 night at the Cheyenne for feb I thought was good.

If you look at my thread about cheap tickets for AP holder friends the dates are there for when the tickets are available and the price is €29 so not bad at all. Sorry I can't link, I'm on my phone.xx

see in previous years, through Expedia/ebookers etc when they got the onsite rooms only to sell, you could have got a midweek room at the Cheyenne in Feb, per room per night, for less than £60 (last year there were even rates like £35 or less for the room per night at the Cheyenne for Feb).

This is personally why I won't pay onsite price through DLP if they are way over my budget, I'll go offsite but nearby instead. £110 per room per night is way over my budget for just about any time of the year if it doesn't include park tickets.

I know gone are those days now it seems such a shame :(
The prices I got are cheaper than one nights stays on the DLP sites.
Just so Dee knows every way to book.
saying off site will work out cheaper for Dee but nothing beats a onsite feeling even if it does cost more.
If there was any way we could of could the Cheyenne for £35 a night we would be in 2 rooms there next time but no good deals to be had hence 2 nights in the NPB best I could get.
The £111 was for 4 so if adults splitting cost not that bad but ye I know what you are getting at I wouldn't pay the price I have for the NPB for a hotel normally but the boys love the disney hotels and it's for the 7th birthday.
Our last trip the high light was a one night at the Cheyenne still talked about daily.

I hear ya :goodvibes, I love onsite too, but now my daughter is older and we don't tend to do EMH anyway, offsite can work well for us (my favourite rooms in all my DLP trips, apart from most recently the HNY, were our Magic Circus and Dream Castle rooms).

We all do DLP in different ways, you're right there, what suits one won't suit all :).

Hey I priced up 2 nights at the DLH the NPB seemed a bargain after that :rolleyes1.
If we had the choice we all be at the DLH wouldn't we :)
Your right we had 7 nights in oct and are having 7 nights in feb to first 5 at the adagio. Some say wow it's a long time and ye it is but I know my family the don't do emh and we will be lucky to be in the parks by 12 they are a laid back lot lol.
we make the most out of meals and sometimes don't do a lot when we are there tbh we just say we will catch that next time ;).
The Cheyenne night on our last night was fab because we hadn't stayed there since the twins where born for me and ds1 it really was like coming home Elaine as they get older you can not put a price on that.
Sorry off topic
Yes agree disney hotel rooms are expensive I will look into dream castle to thanks for the tip x

yep we're rambling off topic now, but I totally know what you mean - the Santa Fe is the first hotel we stayed at on our first ever trip to DLP, so every time we stay there again its like coming home :goodvibes.

It's only 1 night so I really don't mind too much if it's onsite or offsite.
I stayed at Santa Fe in 1992 and went back again in 2006 and it was lovely to go back!

Funny we first stayed in the Santa Fe then the next 5 at the Cheyenne so it will always be special to us but WOW how small are the rooms can not believe 4 of us used ti spend up to a week there.
Happy days
