Hi to all.

Well this year will be filled with lots of disney!!!! We are planning on being there for the 50th anniversary for DL. But would love to go to Disney World in either October or January. Our family is small. DH ME DS 15 and DD 13 at time of travel. Now staying on site would be great but DTD would be fine also. DH and DS are big eaters and DD and I will share meals when we can. I am just getting my feet wet with all of this and need some expert advice. This is one of those once in a lifetime trips. SO all of your help will be appriciated and is much needed.

Okay flying form PHX will be there for 8 days. Other than DW we must see Kennedy (DH and DS) They will not let us leave the state with out seeing. Other than that we will be open for ideas. Kids will have some spending money. Trying to keep the cost down as much as possilble with still have a great time.

Would love to hear how much you all have spent for a smilair trip. TIA.

By the way I always have Disney on the brain. :cool1:

Hi. Sounds like a wonderful trip! My DH also insists on Kennedy when we go to Florida. I would suggest getting a room with atleast a partial kitchen. If you want to spend a few nights at the coast or in some of the nondisney parks, I would get a cheaper hotel for a few nights outside of DW. I would definately recommend staying on-site while enjoying the parks. Espcially with your older children. They can come and go into the parks with freedom (walkie talkies or cell phones) and take advantage of all the free transportation.

At WDW hotels:
If you want a fridge & coffe maker only; reserve one of the moderate resorts (minimul room eating, food storage). If you don't really care about the fridge, you can stay at one of the value resorts (really no perishible food storage unless you have a cooler). If you want a full kitchen, I would suggest either renting DVC points for the week (MUCH Cheaper) at one of the Epcot resorts or getting a cabin at Fort Wilderness.

You can get a discount with AAA membership, AP holders, public codes. The Magic your way packages look pretty good and AAA discounts those as well. That way you can add on two meals and a snack a day pre-paid.

Hope this helps. I'd be happy to help you. We love this

Hi! Welcome to the DIS---this place, and the people, are awesome!

I can tell you flights from PHX to Orlando or Tampa are $99 each way with Southwest, totaling about $220 a person (with taxes). That price has been fixed for the past 8 years, and you just need to wait for the $99 special comes out for your time period.

Just MHO of course, but with the new EvEMH, we will only stay onsite from now on, and the DTD hotels are not included in that perk from what I've read. Just an FYI...

See you at DL for the 50th! If the WDW trip is the "once in a lifetime", I'd probably try to do October and go to MNNSHP if I could.
