Hoping someone can tell me what the cheapest time of year to cruise would be? That is not during hurricane season that is. Thanks. Especially interested in the 7 day cruise.

From what I've seen, late August through mid December and January through February seem to be the cheapest times to cruise. (Aug-Oct are hurricane season.) Also, late April (post-spring break/Easter) and early May are not too bad.

allseastravel.com is a great site for pricing cruises. Just choose the number of nights you want to sail and you can view months at a time.

I love this agency. They give unbeatable rates, and outsanding customer service!

In fact, we already booked our next cruise, Feb '05 with them. And we're considering going on a late summer cruise-checking out the rates-and will book with them again!

Good luck on your cruise!!

A good rule of thumb is that it's cheaper when the kiddies are in school, and expensive during typical school break times (June, July, August, March, April, Thanksgiving, Xmas & New Years).

The cheapest times are Sept/Oct. (hurricane season) and January. These are the times that the cruises are sometimes reduced from the normally advertised prices.

We actually like Sept/Oct. You need to be willing to be flexible about ports of call as the ship isn't going anywhere near a hurricane. However, wherever it sails, we always have a great time. We've been lucky in that we've never had to miss Castaway.

January/February are definitely high on the cheapest time to cruise list. We've done two in February through allseasons and have had great prices. Plus, my son loves that he gets two weeks of school off that month - once when it's cheap to cruise and then the school vacation....:teeth:

Halloween is a great time to cruise, rates are down, ships not overly crowded, the air and water temps are still warm.

Don't forget you can dress up too. T-or-T:crazy:

The ship doesn't sail in the path of hurricaines and Dis has never had to cancel a date yet. But my fav. time to go is NOVEMBER. The rates are cheap and the weather couldn't be more PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you wait until Dec. Jan. or Feb. the weather could get cold and you stand a better chance of missing CC, or having a cold beach day. Just my 2 cents.:sunny:

we usually go in January, and that has been the cheapest time we have seen, plus it helps to escape the Iowa winter for a week!

The first half of December and January seem to be the least expensive times to cruise (aside from hurricane season). We've gone twice in December and once in January and would not hesitate to go during those times again.

the first week in Sept is usually WAY cheap.
check out allseastravel.com for a good comparison

The ship doesn't sail in the path of hurricaines
Absolutly true, EXCEPT for the one exception. Back in '99 when huricaine Floyd was approaching the Bahamas, the Magic after picking up her passengers (back on the 3 and 4 night cruises) sailed full speed out to Castaway Cay to pick up the islanders before the hurricaine hit. Then she sailed off to calmer seas.

January 22nd is the least expensive!

I did lots of looking, and according to all the lists, the Jan 22nd sailing had rates that were equal to the low end of the ranges listed on the DCL board (and brochures). All others were just alittle bit higher. DCL was advertising cat 12's at $799 per person. Add this to Dreams Unlimited or All Seasons' discounts, and it is even lower.

Good Luck!!

Early December seems to be just about as cheap, perhaps just as cheap, as January or September.
