I am looking for suggestions to what would be the cheapest options for roundtrip transportation from MCO to Pop Century? My brother is looking at visiting us and my parents while we are on vacation next month. He is coming for just a few days in the middle so won't b eligible for ME.

Since ME has started, we haven't looked into there transportation option so I'm out of the loop on pricing and best options. Any suggestions? Thanks!!

If you add him to the room reservation, he is eligible for Disney's Magical Express. Then he gets free transportation and luggage service.

It doesn't matter that he's arriving after your check-in date and departing before your check-out date. He's eligible for Disney's Magical Express. Disney knows that family members sometimes arrive on different flights and on different days, so DME is set up to handle it.

Also, to stay in the room, he technically has to be on the room reservation. And it's the only way to get a resort ID for him, which he'll need for Extra Magic Hours.

Agreed. As long as he is on your room reservation he is eligible for DME.

If the above post options won't work, try pricing mears. You can also go to Mco website and see what transportation ideas they show.

absolute cheapest is catching an Orlando public bus from the airport to Downtown Disney and then a Disney bus from there to the hotel, I don't have the exact bus #s handy but I saw suggestion here before

And if he's not on your ressie, he won't get a KTTW, which means no EMH. if they're checking IDs at pools, he wouldn't be able to go there either.

Thanks everyone! I'll be sending all this info onto him to figure out what he needs to do.

Okay, so if my parent add my brother to their room reservation, how does that work? Will he need to have the dining plan and same # of tickets, etc or is he just added to the room? He doesn't need tickets and won't need the dining pan either since he will only stop to visit for a few days?

Thanks again!

Generally speaking, you can add someone to a room, after the reservation actually starts, if you are on the dining plan, with tickets. BUT, I'm not sure if they have to then have the dining plan and tix for the length of their stay.
I would actually have him go to the Mears desk, upon arrival at MCO. It's on the same level as DME is..in fact you walk right past it when heading to DME. He can then pay for a shuttle ride to the resort. They may even put him on a DME bus. You can't book it in advance since he is heading to a WDW resort. I know that one way was about $19, so r/t may be about $30.

As long as they wait to add him to the reservation after check in then he will not be required to have the same package components. If they add him prior to check in he will have to have all the same components, ie -tickets and dining.

I am a single parent and my sister often joins us midway through the trip for a few days - she lives in Clearwater. If I purchased a package I only do it for myself and my 2 dd's then I add her for the number of days she is staying after we check in.

So after they check in they can add him to the reservation, if he is over 18 there will be a $15 per night extra adult charge. At that point they can make his round trip DME reservation but he should probably be prepared to carry his bags on board instead of using the luggage delivery service as he won't have the luggage tags.

No he wouldn't have to have any of the package if he is added after check in. A CM once explained to me that once you check in and the package components are distributed then you can make changes to the individual components. We have done this quite a few times.

Even when my dd's and I have tickets and dining, my sister gets a KTTW card that is just a room key, no dining, no charging and no park tickets. Since she is a FL resident and has an AP and TIW this works best for us during the few days she joins us.

Thanks for the info! I called Mears the other night just to see what price they would give me and the lady said that he could take a Mears shuttle TO Pop Century but that he would not be able to be picked up by them for the ride back to the airport? She said that he would have to use a taxi or car service for his return trip because WDW wouldn't allow Mears to pick him up?

Does anyone know if that is totally correct? I don't see why if they can drop him off, then why can't they also pick him up.

Thanks so much for this info!! If this is what they can do, that will be great! I am assuming he will be traveling fairly light so grabbing his own bag shouldn't be a problem. Is the extra adult fee $15 at Values? I couldn't remember if it was $15 or $25 per night. Do they do all of this at the front desk or where would they make the ME arrangements? :goodvibes

I think the extra adult fee is $15 for value, $20 for Moderate and $25 for deluxe resorts and this is per night.

They can add him to the room reservation at the front desk, I usually wait until the day after I check in to avoid confusion.

They should also be able to add DME when they add him to the reservation and they can also just call DME direct from the room and make the DME reservation. There is a dedicated call button on the room phone for DME.

He won't have paperwork so he will have to stop at the DME desk at the airport and pick up his vouchers to ride the bus.

At Pop Century?:rotfl: Yeah, I can see them checking IDs with the thousands of people running around that pool!

Extra adult per night charge at values is $10. It's $15 for moderates and $25 for deluxes.
