I recently started making shirts for our upcoming trip. I purchased the Gilden 100% cotton 6.1 oz. Model 2000 (mens) for the adults and model 2000B for the kids.

Fast shipping and I am happy with the quality. Great color selection too. The kids sizing in Gilden runs about 1 size larger than normal which is okay with me, hopefully we can use the shirts next year and save me some time

You did a terrific job on your shirts! I am trying to get up the nerve to tackle the tie dyed Mickey heads.

I actually found some thicker kid's t shirts at $ Tree. I wasn't happy with the packages of shirts at Walmart, and the ones at Michaels and AC Moore are a blend-I wanted 100% cotton. I ended up getting the adult sizes at Target in the Men's department.

Thanks! This was my first attempt trying them.

Just make sure that when you pull your floss for the head tight that you are pulling in the correct direction and not back against the fabric (had to remove the floss, sew 2 small holes, sew the head with floss again for DH's shirt). I also wrapped the floss around the gathered part a few times before tieing it and wrapping the rubber bands.

I used jacquard brand tie dye kit (red, yellow, blue) and tulip brand black for the mickey head. After washing the head looks kinda faded. If I do them again, I am going to order jacquard brand black off the internet to see if there is a difference.
