Our APs expire in three weeks, and we're toying with the idea of closing them out with a long weekend. Since we spent eight days at Disney followed by a week at the beach earlier this month, we'll have to go budget. We usually stay on site (except for first and last night if we're arriving/leaving late). We'll miss emh but can live with out it. E-night is a priority, though. The cheapest thing I've come up with is Hotel Royal Plaza at Downtown Disney for $79 (via mousesavers.com). Anyone know of any cheaper option?

The least expensive place I can think of is a tent site at Ft. Wilderness campground....(I'm not sure camping would be an option for you, though. :) )

(Hey, I was just up in your neck of the woods a couple of days ago--visiting Franklin Pierce's home in Concord, NH! We had a great visit... )

I already suggested tent camping to my dh. We have two little two-man tents used mainly for Cub Scouts. Now, that would be an adventure!

dcfromva -- I live in Concord, NORTH CAROLINA, a good ways from Franklin Pierce's home. My town's name is pronounced like the word "concord" meaning an agreement or the high-speed transatlantic plane.

you talked about staying at Hotel Royal Plaza downtown well here is one Cheaper for that Hotel how about $69 a night , and you get to up grade to a tower room. Make sure you up grade for free you have to click on the room you want, and also for every 3 nights stay or more you get a free night . dates are for 06/23/03 - 09/30/03
I was going to make two Reservations so I would only have to pay $460 for 8 nights.
here is website http://reservations.ihotelier.com/crs/p_prod.cfm?PRODID=136&HOTELID=2070&killcookie=1

if it doesnt work then go to Travelzoo.com they will only being doing this for a few more nights. I hope this helps you...

I'm not sure if it is still available, but the Courtyard by Marriot at Downtown Disney was running a Sunday-Thursday special of $20.03/night. The Courtyard is another "Disney Village" property where guests have the similiar privileges to Disney Guests (EMH, EE, etc).

Here is a link to there website:
Courtyard by Marriot - Downtown Disney

You can call the Courtyard directly (you have to for this rate) at 1-800-223-9930 and you have to ask for the $20.03 rate.

HTH, Steve

Jumped back in to add link to running thread on the $20.03 rate.

Hold on here... you can stay there and still get EMH?? I thought that was only for resort guests?
Please let me know as that might be important on my decision about where to stay should we go on our mom (me) and oldest daughter trip for Halloween!

this is what it says at www.wdwig.com regarding E-nights:
Can anyone purchase a ticket to Magic Kingdom E-Ride Nights ?

Disney Resort Guests, Hotel Plaza Blvd. Guests, Swan, Dolphin and Shades of Green Guests with multi-day passes can purchase a ticket for an after-hours party in the Magic Kingdom Park.

Offer good only for Disney Resort Guests with the following multi-day tickets: Ultimate Park Hopper, Park Hopper Plus, Park Hopper, Seasonal Pass, Annual Pass, Premium Annual Pass. You must have used your pass on the day of the event in order to gain entry.

that would suggest that E-Ride nights are available to Courtyard by Marriott guests, as it is on Hotel Plaza Blvd.

Regarding EMH - again from www.wdwig.com:
On October 1, 2002, WDW began a new program for Disney Resort Guests (including guests of the Swan/Dolphin and the Hilton at Lake Buena Vista) called the "Extra Magic Hour".

this would suggest that you have to actually stay at a Disney resort, Swan, Dolphin, or Hilton LBV in order to take advantage of the extra magic hour - but more hotels will qualify for E-night, which the OP was concerned with :)

but i'm curious to know as well if i'm wrong!! thanks!

. . . and unless there has been a very recent change, the Hilton is the only Downtown Disney resort that gets emh. They all partcipate e-night though.

veraletta -- that link is great. Not only is $10 a night less than the mousesavers special, but more dates are available, too. I've got to do some research about cancellation policies before I can book it -- my dh isn't sure he wants to do this trip.

In order to participate in EMH the DTD hotel has pay extra for the bus service. I think (currently) the Hilton is the only hotel that participates.

If you are certain of your dates and don't mind non-refundable, the LBV BW has been coming up on Priceline a lot for $25. You can learn more about Priceline bidding and see other successful bids on www.biddingfortravel.com

DON'T USE PL, the purpose of OP trip is to do E-night and there is no guarantee you'll get LBV-BW.
