What is the cheapest way to eat at each park? BTW, is anyone else having trouble with the search engine. It hasn't worked for me over the past 2 days. It hasn't found ANYTHING.. I even put in Cinderella and it said no matches!!!! So sorry if I am asking too many questions, but I can't search. I'm still trying to decide what is the cheapest/best way to go so everyone will be happy. Also, I really wouldn't want fast food at every meal... burgers and fries maybe once, but I would like some better, cheap food. Does that exist? Trying to make plans if we keep our reservations for Halloween week.

I would recommend checking the menus at: http://allears.net/menu/menus.htm

Here are some that we've enjoyed
AK: Flame Tree Barbeque, really good food & quite a bit of it. DH,DD & DS love the ribs, I like the chicken.

MK: Plaza is a TS, but very inexpensive in comparison to most. Good sandwiches. Columbia Harbor House gets excellent reviews, I haven't made it over there yet. Cosmic Rays has a rib/chicken combo that is very budget friendly for the amount of food you get.

Epcot: Sunshine Seasons (CS) all sorts of different stuff. In WS, the Fish & Chips at Yorkshire County Fish Shop are very good. Tangerine Cafe in Morocco is also known for large amounts of food for the price.

DHS: I prefer the TS restaurants here. Check the lunch menus (cheaper than dinner) Sci-Fi is fun and we've always had good meals (although it doesn't always get good reviews) Prime Time Cafe is good too.

Hope this gives you a start, if you have more questions just ask :goodvibes

as for the search, it hasn't worked for as long as I know. Use google, with disboards included in your search. That works pretty well.

In terms of cheap food, you are somewhat limited to CS. However, there are some good CS choices.

At MK, Columbia Harbor House has good chicken and/or fish strips, sandwiches, etc. and the price is comparable to other CS choices. Plus, it is out of the way and not as well known and has nicer ambience than the mega CS options (such as Cosmic Rays).

At EPCOT, although not quite a full meal, the Bratwurst in Germany (Sommerfest) gets great reviews and is reasonably priced.

At DHS, your best bet for CS priced food is probably to just go for the burgers at Backlot. Pizza Planet is not very good quality pizza (IMO).

At AK, Flame Tree BBQ as mentioned above is probably the best for the price.

At DTD, Earl of Sandwich is a good value and the food is very good.

Of course, if you "upgrade" to TS, you'll find higher quality in MOST instances (you have to be careful because some of the high priced restaurants, notably Brown Derby, get pretty bad reviews), but the price tag jumps acoordingly as well.

I am moving this from the Dining review board to the main restaurant board for more views.

CS has come very far from burgers and fries. The land has a great chioce with great variety. The food courts at the different resorts also have a (sometimes) surprising variety at reasonable prices.

Here is a link to the menus here on the DIS. Many of them also have pictures of the venues. Sharing meals may also be an option for you.

DIS Menus

Sorry about the search, it is very tempermental

I guess I find the menu link very clunky and I don't know that I want to nor could I print out all of the menus for everywhere we are going. It just seems overwhelming. I guess what I want is when we get tired of touring and everyone says we are hungry, then I can pull out a list and say... we can go here or we can go here or here for our best choices that are nearby whether it be a turkey leg stand (I think I read those are good and can be shared) or a good wrap (read that somewhere as well). I'm also trying to decide if even getting "free" dining is worth it to us as we don't eat a ton, not am I sure I want to be a scheduled commando in that we MUST stop and eat now... All of this is overwhelming.

For our family we've toured both ways with adr's and a plan and without.
We (or probably I) am better off with! All of a sudden everyone starts to get tired and cranky and nobody can think... so we have a general idea, before hitting the park, of where we are eating CS or TS!
