Just getting done with a 9 night stay at SSR and after two trips to Publix, I was running low on supplies and while walking around the Artist Palette convince shop noticed they sell 6 packs of 12oz cans of Budweiser, Bud Light, Coors Light and Miller Lite for $19.75-$18.00. Now not a bargain by any stretch, but in comparison to $10.50 for a 16oz Miller Lite at the pool, or $9.50 at the shop it doesn't look that bad. 1000004738.jpg

Usually the cheapest beverages on property can be found at the Speedway gas station convenience stores. There have been a lot of posts about people walking to the one near the BWI/BWV with an empty roller suitcase to fill it up with beverages to save money. Perhaps someone who has been there recently can post some sample prices . . .

I have definitely hit up the Speedway by Boardwalk before when headed back to the resort. Just a bit of a walk to the closest one to SSR. I was just rather surprised a 6 pack didn't cost $40 based on the single can prices.

I stayed at SSR in March on a point rental reservation; had a car so brought my own gin & tonic along! Personally I do not consider Bud or Miller to be beer, my tastes run to Guinness, which I had a lot of on march 17 at DS.

The speedway by DS is very easy to get to however DS has a rule that no longer allows any outside liquor. There are security checkpoints at all the bridges. I would not bring a roller as it may be checked. One however can walk around the checkpoint and enter SSR direct by not using the bridge but a further walk as this is allowed.
