ok so exciting news we got a pin code in the mail today for free dining. We are planing on going in late october or early november. we have 7 adults and 1 child. Well we need 3 rooms, 1 room needs at least 3 beds, 2 rooms only need 1 room. what is the best room and hotels. I looked some dates and found the all star had rooms with 3 beds. is that a good hotel? we always stay at beach club but we can not afford that type of money for that many people. I also am curious about the walking at this hotel, or any of the other cheap hotels. We hated port orleans, the walking forever back to the hotel room. we like to just go back to the room, not walk a mile! thanks!

Have you looked into a two bedroom villa at Old Key West? They have 1 bed in the master bedroom, two beds in the second bedroom, and a sleeper chair and fold out couch in the living room. :)

When you get a free dining pin code you pay rack rate for the room, correct?
According to All Ears the All Stars rate is around $118 per night, the suggestion of a 2 bedroom at OKW looks like $680 per night. The OKW choice is an excellent suggestion, but you could get 5 rooms at All Stars for around the same money(and there would be more privacy with the extra rooms).:earsboy:

Your correct. And we don't wanna stay with 2 sets of newlyweds:)

For 3 sleeping surfaces at All Star you will need to reserve a Family Suite that will consist of 1 queen bed, 1 sleeper sofa and 1 sleeper chair.

Honestly, if budget is a concern you would be far better off with a 3 or 4 br condo off site at Bonnet Creek. This location is no farther from the parks than the value hotels.

While I have not stayed at a value, I would imagine with the large size of the resorts that a good bit of walking would be involved, i.e. it is not going to be at all like the Beach Club. The rate for the Family Suite during that time is $224 so for 3 rooms the total would be $460 per night. If you really want to stay on property a room only discount would most likely be better in your situation with 3 rooms. If you were only going to book 2 FD would most likely be better.

We want to stay on property for the free dining, and all the other perks.

If you stay at a value resort, you'll only get the quick serve dining plan (no table service). You'll have to stay at a mod or deluxe to get the standard dining plan (1 quick serve and 1 table serve per day). Your group will have to decide how they want to eat. You can upgrade to the standard dining plan by paying the difference between the quick serve and standard serve price for value resort stays. You'll have to crunch the numbers and see what works best for your group. Often, the cost difference of staying at a value and paying to upgrade doesn't really say you any money than just staying at a mod.

POR now has preferred rooms. They cost a little more, but are close to the main building. POR-FQ is the smallest mod.

This site has lots of good photo's of the various resorts.

The only 3 bed option in the values is a family suite at ASMu and even then it's not 3 traditional beds: the bedroom has a queen and the living room has a pull out sofa and pull out chair. With a quick search of the WDW website it spit back a price of $268.94/night for the family suite and $119.78/night for standard room for the end of October. That comes out to $508.50 per day.

I know that FD is great but keep in mind that when staying at a value, your free dining is limited to quick service unless you're willing to pay the price difference to upgrade to the regular dining plan. In a case like this, I think that a discount resort pin code has the upper hand so I personally would be keeping my eyeballs on the lookout for one of those.

I would just caution you to think about whether you're going to be happy at a value resort if you're used to staying at the Beach Club. IMHO, the rooms are tiny, they have loud wall unit air conditioners, & the general "feel" was one of chaos. Of course, Disney at a value resort is better than no Disney at all!

I had no Idea. thanks! just looked, how is coranado springs?

I loved Coronado Springs. Just make sure you're prepared to walk if you don't pay for a preferred room, that resort is huge. But as someone noted at a moderate you'll be able to get the regular dining plan rather than the free quick service plan you get at a value.

All the moderates except for PO French Quarter could possibly mean a lot of walking. You would have to pay extra for a preferred room. French Quarter would be a nice place to have a honeymoon, and would probably be your best bet if you don't go with a Value.

Don't know who are all in the 3 bed room but if the number of people less than the stated occupancy (4 for value and most moderate resorts) and they don't mind you could you a blow up bed - just place it between the bed and wall farthest from the door during the day.

That way you could keep the value room - it will be a tight fit while everyone is thereand the bed is down but it is doable.

But as other have said depends on the dining plan you want without having to pay extra

Figure which is cheaper - the QS and rack rate room + $ for upgrade to regular dining for value or the regular dining and moderate rack rate room.

Either way you go - you could still use the air bed for extra sleeping accommodations.

I would definitely go for a moderate just to get the better (free) dining plan. Of the moderates POFQ is smallest, then POR. With POR you can get a room with a Murphy bed, so then there would be 2 beds and a Murphy bed (smaller so only good for a young child). CSR and CBR are nice but huge, so if you thought POR was bad, you wouldn't like either of those at all. There is an internal bus just to get around the resort.

And every Moderate resort that's so spread out provides internal busing from various points around the resort to various points around the resort.
