Cheapest days of the week to fly?

As a rule, are some days cheaper to fly than others? I'm looking at the calendar for next June.

I've always heard Tuesdays and Wednesdays are the cheapest days to fly.

in most markets it is Tues, Wed and Saturday.........but some cities like Orlando and Vegas are excepted from this rule. Lots of folks like to fly to Orlando on Saturdays so it is usally not the cheapest day to fly.

Often, when there are sale fares to many cities, the sale fare is valid most any day of the week, but Friday and Sunday sell out first, then Mon, Thurs and Sat, leaving Tues and Wed to be considered "cheapest days of the week to fly".

Our towncar driver in Orlando told us that Tuesdays are their slow days at the airport. I suppose the only exception to that would be if there's a big convention starting in a particular week. I'm finding for our next trip that Friday flights are coming up cheaper than Thursday and Saturday, but that may be because it's winter break.

Usually, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday. I have found Friday and Sunday to be more expensive. Not always though. Trying to figure it out can be a daunting task.
