Cheaper wooden swing sets?

We want to get DS and DD a swing set for their birthday. We were originally going to get a good metal one but now we are considering a cheaper wooden one.

I know the expensive wooden ones are the best but we can't do that in this house. Does anyone have a wooden one in the $300-$500 range? I found this one on TRU. Any opinions?

my in-laws bought my kids one from willy goat. I think you can only order online, they had a small one under $400.

Don't forget to check out Craigslist....you may find some deals, especially if you can breakdown/haul away yourself. Also check out the build yourself sets at lumber stores/Home Depot/Lowes...etc...those you could add on to as you had the time/$$. Whatever you choose, I would make sure there are beams, not boards, in the construction so the thing is as solid for an 8 yo as it is for a 4 yo!

That's the exact one we bought a couple summers ago & it's great! I bought it because I did child care out of my home & the kids really enjoyed it. My boys are 8 & 9 and played on it all the time, it was very sturdy even for them & their friends. I just yesterday actually sold it to my brother for his little ones since I no longer run a child care business & my kids are older & would rather have a trampoline. I think it's a great swing set for the price. Good Luck!

I have the Pathfinder set from Walmart.com. This is our third summer with it and it's held up nicely. I did buy a trapeze bar and steering wheel at Lowes for it last year. Pretty much all of their sets have great reviews online. I paid $399 for it, but it's up to $449

We actually just bought the Carlisle one last week, the kids are loving it so far and it seems to be quite sturdy.
