Cheaper To Buy Tickets at Disney?

I was wondering if anyone could speak from experience. Is it any cheaper to wait and buy theme park tickets at our resort when we check in vs. buying them online? We are paying for everything separately this trip.

When I went last November the cost was the same. The only deal I found was through Undercover Tourist. We had a great experience with them and saved a bit of $$ on each ticket.

it is cheaper to buy them at undercovertourist or mapleleaftickets (both authorized ticket resellers). not a "lot" cheaper but definitely the way to go in my opinion...

Are you staying offsite? Sometimes they will have ticket resellers located in the lobby of offsite resorts. They can be cheaper than purchasing directly from Disney but more often than not, it is cheaper to buy from one of the online ticket sellers and have the tickets in your hands before your vacation starts.

Don't forget that with the new My Disney Experience, even offsite guests can schedule their FastPass Experiences in advance. But in order to do it, all guests must have valid admission media for the number of park days you want to schedule. That makes it worth getting your tickets in advance instead of waiting until you get to your resort.

Tickets purchased from your resort or from online/ticket booth are the same price. What we do, and PP mentioned, was purchasing your tickets from Undercover Tourist. They are the exact same MYW tickets, only sold at a discount. Tax and shipping is included in the price, and shipment is pretty quick. Their customer service is tops, and DisBoard members are great fans. You can put UCT tickets on MDE and schedule your FP+ choices. I can't say what savings you'll get; each ticket might have a different savings. But you will save and it adds up if you have a family to purchase tickets for.

I would not get tickets from sellers in the lobby of off-site resorts. Could be unsavory/shady/fly by night. You don't know their history. Stick with UCT, Mapleleaf, AAA.

Another vote for Undercover Tourist. Just bought my mom a 5 day MYW ticket there last week. Have already received it in the mail and linked it to MDE. It was immediately recognized by the system. I think she saved $15.

Yes, you just either scan the barcode with a mobile device or key in the numbers from the back of the ticket.

We saved some $$ purchasing through undercover tourist as well! Easy to link to MDE, no problems with our Magic Bands earlier this year

Depending on the number of days you are buying, I believe Orbitz is cheaper than UT. It is $344 for a 5 day PH and you can link to Orbitz via ebates (3%) or TopCashBack (5%) for a cash back rebate. Orbitz will give you a MyMagic+ code that you can link to MDE and make all of your FP+ reservations ahead of your visit.

I had plans to buy our tickets from Undercover Tourist but after jmmess spoke of Orbitz I looked into them and they are less expensive. A 5 day Water Park and More ticket at the gate is: $387.66, Undercover Tourist is: $366.10 and Orbitz is: $355.71 and that is before my Ebates rebate.

But isn't Orbitz restricted to a certain time span that you predetermine? What if you have to cancel your vacation and reschedule outside that time span? Did I misinterpret previous posts?
