ok-so I'd like to kick my starbucks a day habit! It gets so pricey! My problem is I love it ;)

Anybody have an alternative to starbucks iced coffee that tastes the same? I've given up cometely on an iced latte replacement!

We have a keurig at work and every variety in existence and I've tried them all but I just can't do it. No matter what variety you use it has the keurig taste. Not to mention their iced coffees are a disaster!

My life would be so much easier if I could drink hot coffee. Starbucks baristas seem to be the only people I know who consistently win at iced coffee.

Please help this Starbucks addict break free :)

I love my Starbucks, but hate the price and calories. My advise is to pick one day a week and make it your Starbucks treat day. Because nothing is the same as Starbucks

Buy a bag of your favorite Starbucks ground coffee, and brew up some cold brew concentrate. You will end up with a great base for iced drinks.

Starbucks is totally a personal preference and personally yuck. I prefer to buy good whole bean coffee and brew it at home. So if you want an inexpensive alternative that really is it.

I've been trying to cut back in that I only get my latte once a week and an iced coffee the other days lol. I realize this doesn't sound like anything but it really does help!

My addiction is the Caramel Frappe at McDonald's...sooo I try to only get one a week.....on the off days I buy the Starbuck Frappicinos ( usually 2-4 packs to get me through, and so I have them on hand). I use three ice cubes, then 2 tablespoons of Half and Half, then the Starbucks, then fill the rest of the glass with about 3 ounces of 1% milk, stir well....that is my recipe to get off the crack. The McD Frappe (medium) has about 18 Gm of fat, my concoction about 8 maybe 10 max...the Frappe is $3 so a four pack is $5.99 at my store. The half n half lasts a while and we buy milk by the gallon.

I should start using my savings towards an annual pass.:rolleyes1

Don't they now sell the iced coffee in the stores in the carton? I have had to give up a lot of things due to costs. I just learned to deal with it. Maybe look on pinterest and see if there are recipes that maybe the same for home.

Look if you guys add up my fat grams and the Starbucks is 20 grams of fat keep it to yourself and let me live the lie...

I hated iced coffee until that fateful morning about 6 months ago, when due to a whip cream error ( previous customer didn't want it with whip cream) the girl at the window gave me a Frappe for free...I thought this is going to be nasty....first sip was like the scene from Ego in Ratatouille tasting his fav for the first time.

They do sell iced coffee in the supermarket in a carton, unfortunately all the ones in my store are sweetened :( everything in the box has sugar in it grrr

I'd love to find one that's not sweetened!

I usually get Carmel frappe from Starbucks but lately I've been going to McD and getting a large hazelnut iced coffee for $2.45. I really like it! Its the size of a venti or maybe a lil bigger. Right now McD has buy on Mc Café drink get one free between 2-5. I ordered my hazelnut iceed coffee a d worker asked me if I wanted to order my 2nd drink for free. I was shocked and was told it a promotion. I ended up ordering my daughter a mango/pineapple smoothie and got my drink for free total for both was $3.02

From the Starbucks website itself:

My addiction is the cool lime refresher from Starbucks. I'm not a coffee drinker, but that green coffee bean extract is just what I need in the morning...and afternoon. It kick starts me in the morning and helps keep my appetite in check when I get the afternoon munchies:).

I buy my Starbucks gift cards from Target to get the 5% discount...every little bit helps.

Starbucks has VIA packets for the Cool Lime Refreshers. It might be more affordable than buying them already made at the cafe.

Ive just started using swagbucks last month - made $85 in one month. Used some on amazon but am putting the rest on a starbucks gift card to treat myself while at disney. You could always join swagbucks to fund your coffee addiction :)

The problem with making it at home is that you need a quality coffee maker and bean grinder. You can't rely on those machines from Walmart or target. For Christmas we treated ourselves to a Jura coffee center. Makes the best coffee.

If I know I'll want iced coffee later, I will brew hot coffee, add cream and sugar, then stick it in the fridge. Once it's cold, I stir it and pour it over ice.

I have a regular drip coffee pot, so it's a pretty cheap way to make coffee. I use powdered creamer, so I have to stir it in when the coffee is hot or it won't blend.

Agreed. I don't care for iced coffee, but it's not terribly difficult to make a cold brew concentrate. You should be able to whip up a week's worth fairly easily. If you make it with SB beans, it should taste the same. SB...uh...roasts their beans very dark. Many people, usually coffee connoisseurs, will say they burn them. Regardless, if that is what you like, then you need to use their beans.

I have also heard good things about Trader Joe's cold brew, but I have not tried it. I'm not sure how it would compare to SB.

I actually got a BUNCH of these on CLEARANCE at Target:banana:. They were set to expire so they were marked down to $2.91 (from $5.95!) plus I had a few $1 off coupons. I bought every package they had:thumbsup2 so now I have about 15 boxes of them. They aren't nearly as good as the store-made ones, but they are OK in a pinch. I brought them on our last trip to the World and they were a great way to make the Florida tap water taste palatable.
