I'm just running a quick poll to see what level people have paid in 2006, especially in the 2006 "value season" (Jan & Feb) for SWA tickets.

Currently, I can get SWA for $109 one way from Manchester, NH, which is about $20pp more than last fall. I'm thinking prices won't drop much, and in order to secure my flights, I'll bite the bullet.

Has anyone paid less than $80 one way in 2006?

Not that this will help you from NH, but this year we flew (2/11) Indy to Orlando for $49 going and (2/18) $39 coming home.

We flew MHT to MCO this past Feb (2/22 to 3/6) and paid $59 each way, non-stop. I would be thrilled to get that when we fly again next April!

Was that a ding fare?

in Aug. Original cost $134 each way, summer fare sale dropped price to $104 each way, go a $224 credit. With gas prices, I though this was good. Delta dropped to $177 round trip for about 3 days but the times were lousy!! Just keep checking!

I know it wasn't in 2006, but in Sept. 2005 (last fall), we paid $49 each way from MHT to MCO. I think the Ding fare around that time was even cheaper ($39-$44 each way?).

Leaving tomorrow from Columbus, Ohio for $59 ding fare. Got same for return next week.

Got this same fare back in early February 2006.

:cool1: :thumbsup2

We flew from Nashville to Orlando this month for $49 one way. Same fare coming back. It was an internet sale. Last year we flew out of Jackson MS for $39 one way. We live in Arkansas and have to "cross the Mississippi" to get the cheaper fares. Little Rock and St. Louis are always more.

Just booked the other day from Indianapolis to MCO 177.10 round trip for late October.

I paid $79 from BDL to MCO this past February.
I am paying $104 right now for this coming August. Right now the fare is back up to $139. In comparison, last year and the year before I paid $49 in late August.
I do not expect to see fares that low for this year but I will keep on checking.
I do know that June fares went as low as $59 (not DING), so who knows.

Well we just flew from Chicago to Orlando in early February and paid $46 each way through a ding

This month we flew from Hartford CT/Bradley for $59 each way. Wasn't a ding fare, just a price drop off their internet fare. We flew Sun-Fri, so was very happy to get (thought the lowest fare would only be for a Sat. overnight). Good luck. :wizard:

Nope....just kept an eye out on the release dates and as soon as SWA released fares for Feb (around mid-October or so), I jumped on them. Even so, I was booking flights the same morning the dates were released, and we still had to adjust our vacation two days on each end in order to get the good fares (had to fly Tues to Tues). The Thurs/Fri/Sat discounted flights were showing "unavailable" right from the get-go. They know that over school vacation times, people will pay higher fares to get those weekend flights.

I just bought airfare yesterday from SW for $79 each way in August out of Buffalo! :cool1:

It's killin' me. Your High season fares are cheaper then my low season fares.

Buffalo seems to be the place for deals.

we flew islip (long island/new york) to MCO for $49 outbound/$79 return last august/september... for january we booked $119/$119 but got a reduced fare (not a ding) for $79/$79 a few weeks after initially booking... used the credit to send mil/fil away :rotfl2: and they signed up for the rapid rewards promo and got two free tix and are now sending us away! :rotfl:

Jan '06 ALB to MCO for $49 each way.
June '06 (yeah - next week!!!!) ALB to MCO $54 each way <DING FARE>.
July '06 ALB to MCO for $73 each way.
Just came back from business trip from ALB to MDW (Chicago) $27 (that's no typo) each way <DING FARE>.
And I thought $79 each way on Eastern Airlines 21 years ago was a good deal!!!
SWA is #1

Last Aug 26th I got MHT to MCO for $49 that was NOT a ding-purchased 30 days out.

This May 1st I originally got $59 from PVD to MCO but got a ding -very early - like Jan-for $49. I had $60 in credits for the 3 RT tickets.

I used the $60 in credits toward a trip on May 19th from PVD to MCO that was $59 that I purchased on Feb 13th. I never did find a ding for those dates.

I think I will book this Aug for $94 as soon I can get everyone to make sure the dates are OK for their work schedules-hopefully this week. I'm still hoping to get a credit but the dings I've seen lately are $119. All other airlines are more expensive and the times aren't as good.

Be aware that WDW "low season" is not the same as the "low season" for Florida in general. The real Florida high season starts at Thanksgiving and ends after the Spring Break season -- this is when snowbirds are heading to FL to escape the cold weather in the NE.

The true Florida low season starts around May 1st and ends around the beginning of October, when most of the risk of hurricanes has passed. The very cheapest rates will usually be found in May and for the peak hurrican period from mid-Aug to mid-Sept.
