I was thinking about buying something from Disney for my son to give to his class. He's in kindergarten. Is there something that I can buy at Disney that you don't see locally? Thanks! This will be for almost 30 kids so it has to be cheap.

Once when we were there we got the Disney Mickey shaped pretzels and some type of Mickey and Friends Candy from the Candy Shoppe at DTD for my daughter's friends.

I don't think there's anything "cheap"...I was trying to find something cheap to pick up for my management team at work which is only about 12 of us and I was thinking keychains...yeah right! At $5.99 each? Nope...so, I skipped it.

The idea for snacks is good just be careful of kids' allergies.

Oohhh here's an idea..I just thought of it. Maybe you could collect the toiletries or the coasters that they put in the rooms and give those to the kids. I know, what kid likes soap? But....it's free!

I"ll keep thinking for ya!

I read an idea here that someone bought the package of character crayons and gave each child one or two, they have the shaped heads on the top. There are around 14-16 in the package I think.

Does his class have a snack time? I just brought back a bag of Mickey shaped pretzels and some cookies, along with a handfull of napkins from the quickserve locations for my 4 1/5 year old cousin to take on her snack day (a different kid's parents supply the snack each day) for her preschool class. Very cheap and the kids LOVED it. Even if his class doesn't have parents supply snacks typically, maybe ask the teacher if it'd be alright?

I usually do a treat bag. If you ask they will give you enough stickers (they have Mickey on them) for free. At the candy store there are suckers for about $.50. Sometimes I can pick up some pencils here at home to add or something Disney at the Disney store or even the dollar store. I like to bring the teachers back candy or coffee. The candy store on Main Street will have something fun I'm sure. :D

When we went, last year, I took the class directory and we bought post cards at about $1 each (even cheaper off-site, I'm sure), we wrote a very short note and mailed them. The kids really loved the cards with Mickey on them and they also loved getting mail. :flower:

At the pofq food court they sell crazy straws shaped like Mickey's head for .50. My kids love them.

We have done either the foil wrapped chocolate coins with Disney characters on the wrappers or the Mickey sandwich cookies.

If you want a non-edible item, go offsite to one of the myriad of gift shops. You can get Disney keychains, pencils, cups, etc. for far less than Disney charges onsite. The difference is they will say Florida instead of Walt Disney World. But the 5 year olds really won't care.

We also did the Mickey Straws and a bag of Mickey pretzels for snacktime one year. Another year I did a pressed penny for every child with a bag of pretzels for snacktime. Last year we were on the DCL and I brought back pretzels (yeah - they always love them) and stationary/pens from the cruise - I asked Guest services for 25 pieces of paper/envelopes and pens so my dd could bring them back for her classmates. They were very accommodating and sent them to our cabin. By the way, I did ask them to charge our account for them. At the end of the cruise there was no charge. I went to the desk and they said - "don't worry - anything for kids :)!"

I got one Pooh and one Mickey set of character crayons and 2 of the large coloring books. We gave one crayon from each set and one page from each book to each of my daughters friends in her preschool. The kids loved it.

We bought the Mickey shaped suckers at Mousegears in Epcot. 6 for $3.50. $14.00 for the whole class. Also, the shaped crayons are $12.95 for 24.

we brought a box of the "goofy" taffy for each of my kids classes- it was about 7.95 a box

How about a pressed penny? 51 cents per kid. We have done the snack for the class with mickey pretzels, too.

We were in WDW in December last year and we asked at the Castle if we could purchase 19 straws (mickey shaped) for me to give ot my first grade students. The waitress came back with 20 of them for me and said "no charge". I am not sure if they still do this but they were a big hit!!!!!

I went offsite and found Disney pencils(mickey/princesses) for about $.30 each. DD gave them to her class(kindergarten) and they were a big hit. I also gave her teacher a cute magnet for about$6.

We always get the mickey head lollipops, you get 6 in a bundle for approx. $3. It's the least expensive souvenior I've found. My dd does the same thing, takes one back for everyone.

That's what we brought back my ds's class in first grade. The kids loved them. I put them in business size envelopes and sealed them so the kids wouldn't fight over colors or put them in their mouths. The teacher was appreciative!

We also did the Mickey crazy straws. DS2 is in 5th grade, and the kids loved them. In fact, we bought straws for all my nieces and nephews, plus my great neice and nephew. All the kids loved them.
We also bought those Mickey shaped pops. When we were at WDW in mid Dec. the lollipops were on sale for $2.00 per bunch of 5, if you bought any other item. They had both Mickey pops and Pooh pops. We bought Mickey.
