We will be in disneyland next month. SOOOOO excited!!!!!! :cool1: Anyways, I was thinking about whether or not we should get little souveniers for our nieces and nephews. We have 7 of them (9yr and younger), so it would have to be something cheap. Most of them have already actually been to DL or DW (but its been a few years), but I still thought it might be nice to get them something to know we were thinking of them.
Does anyone have any suggestions of just small cheap things we could get for them and from where in DL/DTD?

Postcards and a Mickey-Shaped lollipop? Not sure how young the youngest one is, but if lollipops are safe for all of them, the ones like you see my son with in the photo below are about $6 for a bundle of 6. And the shops around DLR have really nice postcards, with great photos of places in the parks (probably about .50 each?).

If you're not keen on the lollipop idea, in the World of Disney store they have little boxes of cookies, that are like boxes of animal crackers, only the boxes are decorated in princesses and....hmmm, I can't remember what the boyish ones were...Mickey, maybe? Each box was about $2, I think...maybe a little less.

HTH

Nothing is cheap at disney. BUT one thing that you can do is buy things that have multiples in one package and then break them up before giving them out. For instance, in the past I've seen packages with multiple pens in them. Or multiple candies. I would just look in the main stores (and ask if need be) for small items packaged together.

Another option is to buy a board game if they like those. That's one item at a higher price but they could share it. There used to be games unique to the parks that you couldn't even get at the disney stores or online but I'm not sure if that's still the case. This was several years ago but there was a CLUE game based on the HM attraction and another game (LIFE or something like that) based on Pirates? I'm sure of the CLUE game but can't remember the details of the other one.

(MM - we posted at the same time :) )

I like the buddles of things (lolly pops, pens) idea. That would be easy enough and they would all love them.
Another question... Do they have a lego store there or in DTD? DH said he thinks they do. One of our nephews is having a b-day party when we get back and he asked for legos, so I thought it would be nice to get him something from there.
Ok, another one... the Build a Bear store in DTD, does it have special Disney stuff that the other Build a Bears dont?

Not as cheap as what others have suggested, but last trip I noticed Disneyland coloring books in a shop near the Winnie the Pooh ride. They were about $5 each and (though still overpriced for a coloring book) I thought they were pretty neat.

I don't know about DL specifically but Disney does have lego set of the rides like Splash Mt. that I've seen before. :thumbsup2

Yes there is a Lego store in DTD(so cool) and build a bear has Disney items. We bought a Sleeping Beauty outfit as well as Disneyland t-shirts and Mickey ears that light up.

Yes, there's a few costumes that aren't sold in other Build a Bears. I think the jedi outfit is one as well as some of the Disney related costumes like Buzz Lightyear and some of the princesses if not all.

Super cheap: get fastpassses from some of their favorite rides and some Disney Dollars, putting them in frames or something and giving them reminders of DL. Also, pressing coins from the coin machines and getting some of the buttons from City Hall that just say 'I'm celebrating'. Autographs on some nice paper may interest them as well.

Relatively Cheap: Like others have posted, Mickey lollipops and candy should go over well with kids. You could also get those little packets of characters (I forget what they are called but they are by the Vinylmations and leave them to sort out what characters they get.

Up by the cashiers they have little knickknacks and pens that go for a few dollars each.

I know at Pirates they used to have these little gold coins for sale that were not too expensive as well.

I'm trying to remember what they are called -- fun bandz? -- they look like rubber bands but are brightly colored and retain the shape of various characters (kids wear them as bracelets); there are all kinds of Disney-specific packs on sale at many of the stores in DL.

If you have any princess/fairy loving nieces, there are these little plastic cases of rings. About 5 metal (not plastic) rings for $10.

I may have to make a detour to BAB next time we're in town: DDs would love the Mickey ears sound & DL t-shirts. I usually avoid going in because I thought it'd just be like any other BAB. I guess not!

I know that some Disney costumes are available at other BABs. DD has a Rapunzel one - I know that there were other princess outfits also when we were last there (in Dec.) Also, DD1 attended a birthday party there in Jan - one of the boys got a Jedi outfit for his bear at the party.

Disney celebrating pins from Town Hall, stickers from various cast members.. those are free. Inexpensive start pin sets..

Heck, sometimes I take the soaps, pens, and pads of papers from the Disney Hotels..

I don't know much about boy gifts, but for the girls in our family we each have a Disney charm bracelet. Everyone gets a bracelet and one charm at their first Disney visit, and every time anyone in the family goes we get each of the girls another charm to add to it. I've had mine since I was little and it's getting kind of full. I really enjoyed helping my girls pick out their first charms at DLR in 2010 and we all had fun picking out charms for everyone at home when we went to WDW in February.

Do you remember where you have seen these? We love Legos in our family.

A souvenier you might check on (I'm not certain the price) is Disney cooking stuff. We have a Mickey head pancake mold and cookie cutters. They could be a gift for siblings.
My first thought was already mentioned though and and it was the pressed pennies. You can't beat $0.51 for a souvenier and they're fun to make.

I love this thread! I need to bring something home for the petsitter and her daughter- so the daughter can easily be taken care of! :D.

Aww I was gonna mention pins...
An obvious souvenir (but definitely one of my favorites) is that picture you send to yourself at the end of Astro Blasters.

I'm not sure if they still do this:
at the end of the Jungle Cruise, you can ask a cast member for a map of the ride.
also I've heard that you can ask for a marabic translator card in the Indiana Jones shop, but I'm not sure if you can still do that.

Everything I've said is (should be) completely free ^_^

I love getting my son legos, he loves them, where are these splash mountion sets or others please tell me
