We've never gotten the magic band+ just the cheap ones and this year we are reusing old bands except we need to buy one new one for someone in our party.
Do you ever see these come up on the Disney website? I've only been looked for a couple of weeks but am not seeing any of the cheap ones. Didn't know if I should keep looking or just give up and buy the + one.

Yeah same - unfortunately i think they are only pushing the plus ones. Someone in our party had to get the plus since it was all their was available, though there was a plain but it had a slider and was the same price through our reservation as a basic color plus

For just about a year there have been only 3 or 4 regular bands on the MDE website. They are the ones for a few of the lands at the MK. And I think they are the same price as the plain MB+. I'm not even sure they are making the regular MB's anymore.

If you're staying onsite, you have the opportunity to purchase ahead of time through My Disney Experience. I have been looking for awhile, and the only ones I've seen in the old version are 4 styles:
- Liberty Square
- Frontierland
- Tomorrowland
- Adventureland

It shows pricing of $39.99 marked down to $24.99 special pre-arrival price.

Everybody's taste is different, but I just don't care for the styles.

For the same pre-arrival price, you can get solid color MagicBand+ (Navy, gray, turquoise, red, olive green, black, blush pink, lilac).

If you're not staying onsite: I was there last October, and it was very hard to find the old version then. None of the parks carried them.

Is this someone who definitely needs a MagicBand? I think you can get a card for free (I mean, you have to pay for your park ticket, but the card that goes with it is free, I think).

I had to do the same for one member of our party who lost theirs. I ended up getting it on eBay because I didn't want to get a + for him and not his brother.

Unfortunately the MB+ is slightly larger so those that have small wrists it just doesn't feel the same.

It’s for a child and I think he’s really like to have a band like all of us. Bummer to hear the + is larger.

Those ones from the themed MK lands were marked down to $19.99 today but I agree I don’t like the looks of them either.
