I had a code/discount attached to my name for a room only discount. Had no idea until I read about these mysterious codes and thought why not give Disney a call. I asked if I had a code or discount attached to my name and I did. I still don't know why, but the rates I got seemed to beat the rate that SOG gave me for overflow at the CBR ($149) for the same time period.

Are AP codes usually abundant or very limited? I am considering buying one child's AP, hoping for a good discount. If I could get a deluxe for $150 or less, I would jump for joy! I would even settle for a mod for around $80/night to be worth getting the AP.

We usually travel during Pres. week in Feb. Is it normal to see AP rates for then? We might have to go right after Christmas (26-31st). Any likely AP discounts then?
TIA!

One year we got $154 a night at the Contemporary wing....it was a general room code. It was several years ago. We paid $160 plus tax this past Nov. for the Swan. AP code.

Unfort. Disney will not honor a child's AP for an AP rated room. It has to be an adult AP. They are becoming more and more strict about this and are asking for the AP at check in. Sorry!

I stayed at AKL Savannah View ( upgraded to deluxe when I got there) for 4 nights. I had a down payment of $306.60 and paid only $200 more. A total of $506.60. So that is $126.65 a night. And at POP I got it for $54 a ngiht for 8 nights. I got an email with a code on it. It was great because I already had most of the money put aside for the rooms based on rack rates. Lucked out on that! :bounce:

$99 at Dolphin in Dec 2003. It's a double-edged sword, though. It was great to stay so inexpensively, but now we are way spoiled by such a good discount that NOTHING we've seen this year sounds like a good rate! ;)

We're hoping for anything under $150 this Dec (16-23), but won't count on it.

The best rate I EVER got was at the Poly for $99/night about two years ago. We were intially booked at an AP rate into a moderate, but some big convention was coming to WDW and I guess they needed to open up rooms at the moderates so they could sell the (overpriced) "convention-rate" rooms.

We were called up by WDW about this special offer after we had made our room ressies & given a choice of either the Poly, AKL or WL...

agnes!

wing rooom @ contmp. for 219 peak season.
pool view poly 299 peak season,
AKL 199 peak season

Well, after reading the boards here I called Saturday to find out if I had any discounts available... I was offered WL LVW for $137, Cont GWW for $166, BC Sv for $219, or Poly GV for $239. These were the only hotels I asked for rates on. We have a family of 5, and while we really considered getting two rooms at WL, we decided to stay at the Contemp and save the extra money to spend at the park!

Hope this helps! - Wendy

A couple of years ago we got the AKL for $109.00 a night. When we got there, we discovered why. Our room was right over the valet parking hut. We tried for an upgrade but no go. We soon discovered how much fun our room could be. We laughed ourselves silly trying to blow bubbles over the balcony and the hut. Now I'm sure not one bubble had a chance of making it over that roof, but just the thought of it made us laugh like loons.

note to self bring bubbles for hotel entertainment since springing for the delux was all we could afford no money left for a good room. we have parking lot view.

:cool1: it was overlooking a little pond!

We had a room in that same location (4016 maybe)and I can tell you we loved it!! It was really super quiet back there and the castle at night was magical. 109 is a great rate!
