Cheap Place to Stay in Fredericton

My DFi's grandfather just died and we will be travelling to Fredericton, New Brunswick (actually Minto) for the funeral and to be with his family. We are on a very limited budget. It will cost us a little over $100 for the rent-a-car so we want to keep the costs down on lodging. Does anyone have any suggestions? DFi and I went to university in Fredericton so we are familiar with the chain hotels and their locations. However, when I do a search for motels, I'm not really sure what they are like. We don't want to stay anywhere unsafe or dirty. So, do you have any recommendations for us?

You could try the Ramada-closer to the road to Minto. There is also Comfort inn or any of the chains but they are all on the south side of Freddy Beach and Ramada would be the closest. Its on the highway. PM me if you need a number. Sorry to hear of DFi grandfather's passing.
