Hey everybody,
We are DL veterans and usually stay across the street at Desert Inn and Suites. We are going down for one day in the park for my nephew's first trip and need a cheap ($50-90/night) hotel close to DL. We have AP so we can park at DL. I want a safe, clean and somewhat comfortable beds. Any recommendations? Can be up to a mile away, no problem.

I would go to pricline, bit on a 4 star hotel in Anaheim DLR south. You will probably end up with a convention hotel and need to pay $15 for hotel parking plus your bid amount and then tax.

I second priceline. It's all I use now (other than AP Hojo rates)

Don't go below 3 stars. I've gotten rooms as cheap as $36 (Holiday Inn) and paid $80 for the Doubletree. I've never had any problems with the rooms.

For a GEM of a little motel, the Candy Cane Inn can't be beat. It's clean, close, free PRIVATE shuttle service (for convenience). The rooms are nice and it isn't too expensive. They are small... not recommended for large families, but for 2-4 it's fine.

Plus it's pretty!

Before we discovered Disney Vacation CLub, it was our "Go To" motel.... but now my family is too big. Good Luck! pirate:

Don't know if it's too "lousy" for you (maybe the beds?).. But Super8 on Disneyland Dr.

I've stayed many times, always get a very cheap rate (I think) and the staff is so friendly.
- the rooms are spacius and clean
- there is free "breakfast", you get bread, cereal, fruit, donuts etc.

I've gotten rates for about $45-50 inclusive tax

Hope you find something good :D Have a magical trip!

Is the HoJo retro rate available for your visit? Look in to Anaheim Plaza *I wouldn't spend more than $60 at the AP. Check out this fantastic tip. For our most recent visit *this past Thanksgiving weekend* we stayed at Stovall's Best Western *and really didn't mind/kinda enjoyed the walk - cut through the Grand* I got it for $65 per night *and I knew what it was before purchasing because of the tip!

I very much prefer to stay within walking distance.

How does the priceline thing work? Is it a mystery hotel?

It is to get the best rates on priceline. You put in the constraints, dates, area, and payment information. Then your bid a nightly rate. If a hotel with the constraints takes you bid you are charged and your room is booked and perpaid then. Though with the convention hotels the parking and other fees are extra.

If you do a 4 star in the anahiem south area you are likely to get a convention hotel. Things like the Hilton, Marriots, Embassy Suites, Hampton.

For some insight, looks at this link. http://www.betterbidding.com/index.php?showforum=430&

On hotwire you can do a mystery hotel. It tells you the rate, then some information about the hotel. You pay and then it tells you the name. This can be good but not as often as cheap as priceline.
