cheap motel/hotels in Hollwood

Hi.

I am thinking of taking a package to DL which uncludes accomodation atthe super 8. How far is this from the actual land?

Also wanting to spend a few days in hollywood to of a few things eg Universal, look around etc, doesd anyone have an suggestions of where to stay> I will be travelling on my own.

Then I plan ona few days in Vegas...the order i do my trip in is flexible at the moment, as i can't book until March.

I will be 32 and wish to do somethingfor my birthday at dl....any suggestions?

I know this is a long shot....is pumba in the parks?

Hollywood is a pretty seedy area. I wouldn't want to stay there with the exception of Highland/Hollywood Blvd. area which is the main hub of activity there. Universal Studios is not actually in Hollywood. Check the Univesal City area.

Other areas to consider are West Hollywood, West L.A. and the Santa Monica area. A car will be required to get around the Hollywood area from these places but a car is pretty much needed to get anywhere in the greater L.A. area.

Thanks, I stayed in santa monica lasttimeand it was too hard to getaround from there, so was thinking of being in the place toi do all the sights etc.

We stayed at the Beverly Garland Holiday Inn when we went to Universal and Hollywood. It's not too far from either one and the hotel itself seemed very secure. It's not that cheap but I don't know if I'd go for cheap in that area.

Do not look for a cheap hotel in Hollywood. Actually take the advice already here, stay somewhere close but not in. This area is not just seedy, it can be very dangerous. Sorry but I grew up around there and can tell you some scary stories if you like...
