My family is flying in on a cheap flight but doesnt include luggage, So we were planning on paying for 2 luggage. The flight back we using Southwest which gives free luggage.

My family is planning to shop alot, so was wondering if there is anywhere we can get a cheap luggage in the Disney Springs area?

I'd pack a bag like the vera bradley weekend duffle bags inside the luggage you are paying for on the way down. They fold flat so wouldn't take up much room. But they hold more than my carry ons do because of the shape of them when they are full. I can pack for an entire week in mine. So I take one of those and either pack the breakables in it and use it as my carry on on the way back, or fill it with clothes and use my actual luggage for the things I bought. You can get those type of bags at TJ maxx for around $30.

Agree with the above poster that you won't find anything cheap on property. The Uber idea is great, or depending on the length of your stay, amazon something to your resort.

Walmart has a rolling, collapsible duffel bag on clearance in some of their stores for less than $12.00, and a few dollars more online. It is well-rated and weighs about 2.5 pounds. It can be placed in another piece of luggage and pulled out when needed. This unfolds to a good-sized bag, but does not take much room when collapsed. This or something similar s/b available at Orlando area Walmart at less than $20. The least expensive bag at Disney will easily cost at least 4-6x that.

What I do. Use a Packable duffel bag. Without a frame or wheels. I use an Eddie Bauer.

I think I bought it in an Eddie Bauer outlet store for less. I pack it empty. Coming home I put my dirty laundry in the duffel bag and my "valuable" gifts in my regular suitcase.

Wheels and frame makes it harder to pack the bag without taking up space or weight going down.

Buying a lot. Consider buying 2 bags.

Maxing out your checked bag. Really maxing it out. Can't squeeze the bag into your checked luggage.

Use it as your personal item. Stick your pocket book or whatever you're going to put under the seat in front of you in the duffel bag. Make sure the bag is empty enough so you can squish it whatever the maximum size allowance for a personal item.

YMMV Frontier's policy is, or at least used to be, your personal item had to be able to fit under the seat in front of you BUT the flight attendants didn't care, space permitting, if you put that bag in the overhead bin.

If you are going to Uber/Lyft to a store in Orlando to buy luggage, then I would think you would want to compare:

cost of luggage, plus cost of Uber/Lyft from hotel to store, plus cost of Uber/Lyft from store back to hotel

versus

what the airline you are taking to Orlando would charge you for checking another bag which you already own. The airline fee might be cheaper than the cost of a new bag plus two Uber rides.

Another option if your an Amazon Prime member is to order a new bag and have it shipped to your hotel. We did this a few years ago when the airline damaged one of our bags. The resort CM even waived the delivery fee.

I have direct and recent experience with this after a few more items than I expected from a recent trip to Galaxy's Edge over Star Wars day.....

I went around to two or three Targets in the area and found them pretty spares for luggage, and what luggage was there was more than you would expect for buying items at Target, like luggage store prices for an average looking piece of luggage.

I finally gave in and went to Walmart closest to Disney World/Springs, which had much cheaper prices and a large selection. In the end I got a decent piece of luggage that is at least good enough to keep for possible future use and transported by good back home safely in the belly of a Southwest jet. It even has four all-way rollers for ease of transport across airport floors.

One thing to think about is bring along identifying tags or padded handles you might have around to attach to the bag to make it a little easier to identify when you get home since you'll not be used to looking for it.

The really cheap luggage at places like Walmart is not much better then fabric covered cardboard. Lucky if you can use it more then one or two trips.

Is that blanket statement based on your personal experience or because the vendor is Walmart? As with any kind of purchase, the buyer needs to review specs, features, warranty, etc, to make an informed purchase, based on their needs. That’s what the hang tag is for. A person looking for extra packing space to bring home WDW souvenirs has different requirements than a road warrior shopping for luggage.
Most people are intelligent enough to make an informed decision, based on their needs.

We have items packed and mailed for the same price you would have to pay for inexpensive luggage. No need to struggle through the airport with the extra bags and no need to store the bag at home. All personal preference though.

Your checked luggage can be a box, subject to size and weight. You can go to stores like Staples, Home Depot, FedEx Office, UPS store etc. Good chance business center in a convention hotel can help. Probably more expensive but no Uber to pay.

I would just pay to take a bag with you down. Like others have said the only option for cheap luggage would require an Uber ride to and from the store plus the cost of the bag not to mention the time it will take to go and buy the bag. It would just be easier to take a bag with you. Fold up a duffle bag and put it inside of your luggage would work too.
