Im looking for a cheap hotel in September near universal that has a free breakfast. I would like something that isnt in a sketchy neighborhood if possible as we will have a rental car and dont want to risk anything. HA! Any ideas?

The Hyatt Place on Kirkman Road across from Universal is very nice and offers a free continental breakfast with Starbucks coffee.

It's not easy to get the Hyatt Place at that price though. There is a Holiday Inn right there too.

When I stay near Universal, I try to stay at the Best Western Plus Orlando Gateway. I have stayed several times, with no problems. It is a straight shot up Universal Blvd. The prices are reasonable if you get a good deal. Hit the Hot Rates button on the side of the web page, there is always a promo going on. They have a bed & breakfast promotion that starts for $69/night. I am not sure when you are going though or when the promo ends.

You ought to be able to get the Hyatt Place on Caravan Court at just under $100 a night in early September but taxes will take you a little over $100. The hotel features a continental breakfast, heated pool, fitness center, wireless internet, etc.

The Holiday Inn that's next door to the Hyatt should cost a little bit less but would end up at about $100/night with taxes included. I'm not sure if breakfast is included but they have a restaurant, pool, fitness center and a great location across the road from Universal. I think that this hotel is undergoing renovations but I don't know how disruptive that work might be.

In the $75-$85/night (before tax) range in the area are a Wingate by Wyndham, a Hampton Inn, a Fairfield Inn - all with complimentary breakfasts. Those are generally business-person type hotels that are nice basic hotels that are pretty consistent in all their locations.

Thank you!:grouphug:

Doubletree has breakfast. It just isn't free. For $69 you can still get a nice breakfast and keep the price low.

Are you taking DME to WDW? You should just look into driving there instead and dropping off the rental car. It seems like a huge waste of time to be driving back to the airport and then taking DME.

Can I do that? There are some places that wont let me rent from a place and then return to a different one. How would this work? Im renting through Hertz.

Pretty sure you can drop it off at Bonnet Creek. It would save you a ton of time. My daughter picked up a Hertz car at Bonnet Creek and left it at the Royal Pacific at Universal.

Sorry to be asking so many questions. And I would take a taxi from Bonnet to Disney?

Yes, take a cab from the Hilton Bonnet Creek to your resort. Depending on where you are staying, it should be pretty cheap.
