Cheap hotel close to Disney that's not a dump

We stayed at Clarion Lake Buena Vista for a couple nights before our cruise about a month and a half ago and it was ok. Rooms were clean, but somewhat small. It is an older hotel. Very close to downtown Disney. I paid with points, but I believe the cash rate was very cheap.

With that many people, you would need multiple rooms. It might be cheaper to rent a condo or house off Ebay. It would also make it so that you don't have to worry about what the kids do at night.

You might also consider Embassy Suites. You could get away with 2 rooms and free breakfast. It might end up being cheaper in the long run.

I don't think a house is a good option in this case. I'm taking 7 students and one is a boy. I'm not opening myself up to accusation by sleeping in a house for a week with a teenage boy. If it was just a family group or something a house would be perfect.

I don't think condos are the way to go with this trip, either, because when I travel with teenagers, I ask the hotel to put our rooms all next to each other for supervision purposes. With condos being owned by a lot of different owners, it's kind of impossible to ensure getting units right next to each other.

That's why, in this case, a hotel really is our best choice. I do appreciate the suggestion though! If it were all girls going I'd totally get a house.

We always stay at the Clarion Lake Buena Vista when we want cheap and offsite. The rooms are clean, they have inexpensive food, and bus transportation. I believe you can get a room for about $50.00 a night.
