I need a recommendation for a hotel for a week in late July. We are doing it on the cheap and are going for reasons other than just Disney. Any recommendations please? We want to keep it under $100/night.

2 bedroom condo at cypress pointe $93.00 per night (hotelkingdom.com)

comfort suites maingate EAST $109--but if you have AAA, a seniors traveling, or are any type of govt employee the rate goes to under $100

Holiday Inn Express West of the Theme Park $90 - $99 pernight

comfort inn & suites calypos cay $109 per night/ universal area $99 per night

All Star Music $109 per night

don't forget to add tax to each rate.

Hi There -- Try Vacationspot.com, they have many offerings for the Lake Buena Vista, Kissimmee areas that meet your requirements. Takes a bit of time to go through them all, but sure you will find something.

You can get Comfort Suites Main Gate East for $85/night on hotelmartusa.com. My mom and sister stayed here and they liked it a lot. There is a free deluxe continental breakfast with a make your own waffles station. The pool area is nice too! Hotelmartusa.com also lists a 4 bedroom town home at Venetian Bay Villages for $94/night including taxes (7 night minimum). We have used hotelmartusa.com in the past and we haven't had any trouble with them. Good luck.

I booked 2 nights in July this week for Royal Plaza in DTD for $97. We needed a room for 5 and they offer 2 doubles and a sofa bed. There will be an $8 resort fee to pay.

Ho Jos at the MainGate is in the $30s and got decent review on TripAdvisor and someone here posted they just got back and thought it was ok for the money.

I would think you could rent a private pool home for $100 or less per night for a week in July, that's not prime time, is it? (at least it's not a holiday unless you are going over the 4th).

I've had good luck using Hotwire. I got the Sheraton Studio City for $62/night including all taxes and fees. I never bid less than a three star and have never been disappointed in the hotels I've gotten. It's usually Hilton, Sheraton, Wyndham, or Hyatt.

Try vrbo.com (vacation rental by owners.) My guess is you can get a townhouse or home for under $100.00 a night.

I have been researching this same thing for our trip next june as we are having to cut our budget a little and stay off property and we also need a fridge and microwave to save a few $$ on food here and there. We decided we did not want to do a timeshare thing and we wanted a regualr hotel. We have I think settled on the Comfort Suites Maingate EAST. Great rates, m/w and fridge, free internet access.... Seems like a convieniant location. Trip Advisor as well as people on this board have given it good reviews.

It might have what you are looking for.

July is actually peak season in Disney! (Seems strange to me, but it is, since school's out! Those of us from the north don't want to go near Florida in the summertime! LOL)

I would checkout a condo in Windsor Hills, you'll get a much nicer place and bigger than any hotel room.

Best Western Lakeside was a great price and a great location on 192. It's almost a direct shot to Disney. We got it for $50 total on Hotwire, but look it up--you could probably get a great deal.

Forgot to add that our room was very clean and BIG. It had a refrigerator, too.

Extended Stay Deluxe Lake Buena Vista or several in Orlando area very reasonable

Full size Refrig Microwave stove top no oven but basically full kitchen, internet, living room, bedroom, VERY clean I stay there every June/July because they allow dogs with no weight limit and $25. night fee but no more than $75. no matter how many days past the 1st 3 This is the 1st summer we're not staying with them since I really wanted to try a vacation home rental. Found a great one in Kissimmee through vrbo.com as alot of people have been talking about. Recommend either

I've never stayed there, but it always has tempted me if we decided to stay off site for a full trip - Buena Vista Suites:

http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/Resorts/bvsuites/index.htm

It is $78 per night, a suite, free breakfast and transportation to parks.

When we stayed at the Sheraton safari two nights before our cruise, Everytime we came back from the parks, we passed by the Buena Vista Suites while we were looking for a way to get back to Sheraton Safari. I took that as a sign that we should have been staying there instead (but I had free stay at a Sheraton on points.)
