Cheap Cheap Cheap! Disney on a dime PTR *Concluded

I really am envious of your location. Being in Saskatchewan the option to drive to US for cheap flights isn't worth it.

check allegiant air in Minot. they fly from to las vegas and phoenix, which are short drives to Anaheim. Allegiant air can sometimes have some amazing deals. or you can fly to Anaheim with Allegiant air from Fargo.

thank you very much for the info. I will look into it but am not sure it would be feasible seeing as Minot is over 7 hrs away to drive so loads of gas and hotels would definitely be involved. Worth checking into all the same though. :)

I just signed up for my free sandwich from Earl of Sandwich for my birthday and $30 gift certificate from Patina group. The EOS one is good for 1 month after your bday and Patina, who own Catal, Naples and Tortilla Joes in DTD, is good for 2 months after your birthday. My bday is in July, so this works well for our August trip. Last year when we went in July, they didn't ask for any proof that it was my birthday. We won't use the Patina group one at Tortilla joes this time because the food wasn't very good and it was quite expensive for Mall foodcourt quality Mexican food. Thank goodness we got $30 off. We got a comfy booth, though, and DS took a nap while the rest of us ate dinner. I think this time I'd like to try Naples.

Smart woman! They also own the Uva Bar in DTD too. They are a fun place to sit and watch the world go by. I wouldn't do it with little ones although they are allowed. I just think they would be bored.

My BF's birthday is in July and I am signing him up for EOS to be able to get a free sandwich that is gonna be our dinner probably on arrival night

:mickeyjum Our airmiles 5 day Parkhoppers came to the door this evening!:goofy:

They are the actual tickets, not vouchers. We got Mickey, Woody and Goofy. Then DH and I teased the kids and said because there were only 3 tickets, one of them would have to stay home. So they rock/paper/scissored for it and DS lost and pouted. I told him right away that I would buy one more ticket because we only had enough "airplane points" for 3 tickets. It's too bad our safeway closed down last month, because I sure racked up a lot of miles there.

I just got off the phone with Way.com and my Deluxe AP has been ordered:cool1: I saved $25USD by ordering it through them compared to ordering it through Disneyland. The man on the phone said that I'll receive an email from them later today with an attachment and my pass. He sent me a test email and a receipt already, so that's reassuring that I know they got the right email (the man had a heavy accent, and I had to correct my billing address a few times.)

Later today I'm going to order our Legoland passes. I found a link online for free child with adult admission. It's through McDonalds, but it sends you to the Legoland site. My family doesn't eat fast food, so it's nice to be able to get the link without having to buy a Happy Meal - if either of my kids ate a Happy Meal, we all wouldn't be very hapoy! DD gets agressive and hyper and DS gets an upset stomach.

DD is staying home from school today, and I got called to work but turned it down because she's sick, so the 3 of us (DS doesn't have preschool on Tuesdays) are having a nice quiet day at home. DS was playing with a little a bag and he kept pulling random things out of it like toys, a flashlight, some cards... so I asked him if he had a lamp in there like Mary Poppins:rotfl2: I asked them if they'd like to watch it, but DD chose "The Zip a de doo dah movie" instead, so we watched Song of the South. We hadn't watched it in over a year, and when we did, I fast forwarded to the animated parts because it's quite long. So this was the first time we watched it all the way through, and we all really enjoyed it. Then, after the movie was over, DD says to me "Thank you, mommy, for buying us a trip to Disneyland." :flower3:

Rubygoose, Canadians can order from way.com, you just have to call them directly. We did 3 day PH last fall. Aladora, the other Victorian from your August thread has done it as well; in fact it was on her recommendation that I ordered them.

Thanks for all the info in the other thread about flying out of Victoria. Dh and I are both going to get Alaska's credit card, and we just have one child, so between the two cards we can take two trips (one adult on the bonus miles, the other adult plus ds using a regulate fare+companion)!

I think we need a local support group for this addiction, lol. Thank goodness dh and ds love DL as much as I do :)

Huge THANK YOU to Happygirl and Aladora for the way.com savings tip! :cheer2: I was going to give up when I couldn't put in my Canadian billing info on line. I wouldn't known to call them if it wasn't for you two! You saved me $25!

Last year we got tickets from Flight Centre, since their price in Canadian dollars was cheaper than DLRs price in US dollars. I saved at least $80 plus didn't have to pay an exchange fee on my credit card. I thought of getting a 5day PH from them this year, but their prices are higher, and then I'd have to upgrade it to an AP anyway.

I haven't ordered our Legoland passes yet because I can't decide whether or not I should pay extra for the waterpark:confused3. Oh well, still lots of time to make that decision.

DD stayed home from school again today, and Grandma took her to the doctor because I got called in to work. Turns out she has an ear infection. She was already feeling much better by the evening, so I'm hoping she'll make it to school tomorrow.

I got $50 for free from Tangerine (formerly ING Direct) for opening a free chequing account :cool1: YAY for free money! Last year, right after booking our flights, I got a phone call to be in a focus group and made $75. I'm crossing my fingers that they will call me again.

Hope your DD is feeling better soon! Sounds like you are getting things done. How sweet that your DD thanked you for taking them to DL. My DD does the same with me, it sure makes it worthwhile when I see her face light up when we are there!

Our shirts that I ordered from vistaprint.ca arrived in the mail yesterday!

Here's Gavin's!

And here's Annie's!

The words are blurry on the photos, but turned out fine on the shirts. DH and I have shirts for us too, but his says "Everybody's got a laughing place" on the back and mine says "It's the truth, it's actual. Everything is satisfactual." on the back.

Now, to wait 4 more months to wear them!

I love the shirts! How adorable!

Awesome shirts! I love that you got a image designed from a photo! So cool!

Cute shirts!!!

Thanks everyone. I'm pretty happy with how they turned out. I asked a lady from Etsy to turn the ride photo into a drawing, and got her to change the order of how we were sitting on the ride, because DS would never sit in the front on Splash! Then I got them printed from vistaprint.ca. I put them in my account for a while without ordering them, and then I got an e-mail promotion for 35% off, so I ordered them. I think I clicked through e-bates.ca so I get $2 or so back. All in all, I think it cost about $90 to get all 4 of the shirts printed, including the $40 for the image itself.

Well... that's enough procrastinating for today. Better get working on my school work.

I submitted my first assignment for my online class today and got feedback right away. She says I'm off to a really good start on the course. It's a pass/fail course, so no letter grade, but I got a 3 on a 4 point scale, with 4 being "exceptional/above and beyond". So, I'm really happy with how it's starting out. Also, I found out that I'm able to take a course online in the summer, so I won't have to go up to the campus for a week in July as I had originally planned.

Just out of curiosity, I looked up the cost of our flights (that I booked about a month ago.) They've gone up by more than $100 each way :scared1: So glad that I booked them when I did!

It's always great to get positive feedback, congrats!

I try really hard once flights are booked not to look again because as much as it rocks to see it more expensive it would really suck to see a discount you missed out on. Worked out great for you though, yay for booking when you did!!

Shirts are too cute!!!! I will be taking a couple online classes this summer also, but I made sure to have them done by our trip so I have no worries when we are on vacation!!

Ha! I always looks and they always go up! I looked again last night, and it's a good thing I did because I noticed that the time for our return flight had changed. Alaska Air didn't e-mail me, but when I logged into my account and clicked on the flight, there was a notice that it changed. It's a good change, though, as the flight leaves half an hour later than originally planned.

Thanks! I'm pretty excited about the shirts! My online class in the summer ends on Aug 15th and we leave on Aug 21st. I sure hope Aug 15th is when all of the last assignments come in, and not the day the last assignments are posted. The prof who's teaching the class I'm taking right now has been posting the assignments a week early, so hopefully this teacher does the same thing.

I just ordered our legoland tickets! I used the McDonalds happy meal link for free child with paid adult. Then, there was another link on mousesavers from the lego calendar for free child with paid adult. So, the tickets were only $170 US total. I decided to just do the one park and not the water park or the sea life aquarium. I don't think we'll have enough time to spend in the water park and it looks like there is a splash area in the regular park.

The kids are getting pretty excited. I'll be bringing out the mickey head counter downer pretty soon. I made it with construction paper and two paper clips. Each day we switch up a mickey mouse playing card on the paper clips to count down to our trip. I'll post a picture once I get it hung up (and I have to find it first!)
