Cheap Car Rental

Hi Everyone,

Just booked the rental car for our trip in May and just wanted to let everyone know that Dollar Rent a Car is offering some great rates for Orlando.

I booked our Premium car (DW and DD just love the Ford Edge) for 12 days at $380 with taxes and fees included. When I originally checked rates back in January, a 12 day Full Size rental with Dollar was $512. These savings will of course be spent at the Crystal Palace (just book lunch).

If you click on the "City Specials" link on the page, they have even better rates for smaller cars.

Just wanted to share.

Generally you get the best rates 3 weeks out from your travel dates. It's typically advised to never pay upfront for a rental car - if the rates go down you cancel the old with no penalties.

But, if you're happy with a price, grab it as soon as you see it.

We went with Alamo with a mid-size for a week in Feb for ~$90 (all fees and taxes included). The lady at the counter upgraded us to a full size for no additional fee!

Wow, thanks Leadfoot. I didn't pay in advance, just booked the reservation and as the rate keeps dropping I modify to get the new rate. $90 sounds pretty damn amazing, I'll keep checking daily to see if it drop any more.

That's why I love these forums, might be able to get another character meal if I can save another $100
