Just booked my ressie for car rental, Enterprise has some of the best deals in CA! 8 day rental for intermediate form LAX was $154 w tax!, a weekend rental from the nearest Enterprise to Disneyland (on Katella) was $14.99 per day!! Pick up on Friday after 12 noon, drop off monday before noon to get this special rate - for the whole weekend came to $48.46 w tax (no extra coverage asked for as we have full car insurance). WOOO HOOO Hubby just got a secured CC so we will be able to rent a car for the weeknd after all! We were not too thrilled w idea of driving to/from LAX so will use Super Shuttle for airports then walk to DL form Fairfield Inn (4 nites) , car for weekend for side trips then use monorail/walk from DLH for the other part of trip. Now I have nothing else to plan... boo hoo... lol

Thanks for the tip about Enterprise. I was booked with National with DC discount, but this shaves over $20 off of my weekly rate. I also got a rate of $155 for standard for a week.

... anyone used Enterprise before and like to relate the experience to us?

The deal sounds great. But as an Emerald club member, my National deal nets out to about the same for 5 days. However, Im keen to hear what people have to say ...

If the price is the same, I would choose National -- the car quality is generally better than Enterprise (i.e., newer cars, cleaner). However, if you can save a lot on the rental, I've found Enterprise perfectly acceptable. I've used both companies numerous times over the years.

You got a weekly rate of $155.00 from National.. When are you going?? I can't get mine under $180.00 even using DC & Entertainment coupon

Sorry if my post was confusing. My $155 rate is with Enterprise the first week of June. The best I could do at National with DC contract# and coupon was $182. I had a week with National in March for $120, but the good rates just don't seem to be available now.

We just returned and with advanced planning, I was able to get a full size car from Budget for what was essentially a nine day rental for $137; taxes and gas included at LAX. I had a $30 voucher so the rate would have been $167 with gas and tax but for nine days, it was a deal. The important thing to remember about renting a car is that it is essentially the same as a hotel room. They practice yield management. If reservations are down, the price will go down, conversely if there is high demand, up goes the price. I made the car ressie back in August for April, so planning ahead will always get you a better rate. No matter how good you think your rate is though, keep checking, it could go lower.
