I am looking for cheap idea for group of 30 teens. My class did a great job, and I wanted to reward. I am looking for something other than munckins..

Do you have cooking facilities? If so, I'd go with pancakes and sausage and orange juice. If you don't have facilities or a desire to do that work, then you could just go with muffins and fruit and juice/coffee or bagels, cream cheese and coffee/juice.

Pancakes! Make the mix ahead of time, bring an electric griddle and you're good to go. Make sure whatever mix and syrup you use are free of allergens if you have any issues with that in your class--my son's allergic to all nuts and Krusteaz pancake mix is not OK for us--just a suggestion! Great idea to reward your class!!

See if your school cafeteria staff will help you out.. they may?? If not, they may at least allow you to use their kitchen. See if you can get some of the office staff to help you whip up some pancakes, bacon and sausage.. maybe see if you can get a store to donate the supplies you need too.. Also see if you can get them to donate some bagels and cream cheese, as well as donuts.. If you have a PTO/PTA ask for their assistance in getting some donations for the breakfast... don't forget the OJ for them too... and see if you can get it donated.. I work with a teacher, she goes to places like BJ's, Costo, Wal-Mart & Publix and is always getting goodies donated for the students to reward them with food parties.. sometimes even Domino's, KFC and Pizza Hut.. She will purchase some and they will donate some... you have everything to gain by asking them... give it a try...
There may even be a place that does breakfast in your area willing to do it for the kids.. you never know.. we have a place called "Grandy's" by us.. and they have done that for our students on many occasions...

I did a quick honor roll breakfast for my class once. I made pancakes on an electric griddle and had lil' smokies warmed in an electric skillet. Added orange juice to drink and had a great time. :)

You are a nice teacher to want to do this for your kids. :) This type of thing is now outlawed in my state because it competes with the cafeteria. :headache:

These are great ideas! I completely forget about out PTA, they would definitely help out. I will look into the stores for donations. I am also the Student Council Advisor, these stores could be very helpful in the future.

Wow how does the cafeteria really lose out. Kids are still going to buy lunches. We had a smoothie day and the cafeteria was very upset. It was only one day, and it was for a good cause.

I make tHese on the weekends for my kids and then refrigerate them to eat during the week. I think I got the recipe from disneys Family Fun magazine in the back to school issue. There are basically cornbread muffins with grated cheddar and crumbled cooked bacon and a few chives snipped in. With some oj you're all set!

sometimes you can even work out a deal where they will "sponsor" a classroom... you never know until you try... :thumbsup2 Good luck with it.. and please pass congrat's on to the kids.. tell them a "strange Disney friend" passed it along... :rotfl: I know one of the schools I use to work in, the kids use to call me Ms Disney because I always wear something Disney... :goodvibes

You could even do scrambled eggs in an electric skillet rather than a meat. Breakfast meat is getting so expensive, that or I live in the wrong area of the US.

Pancakes sound really yummy. That or you could ask your PTA members to bring in a waffle iron, and the kids could make their own waffles. Just place the batter in small cups. I was at a hotel that did this, and thought it was cool.

Bagels, muffins, or toast are a good safe side.

I am a fan of fruit crepes. You can make or buy them in advance and stuff them with bananas, apples, ect. and then top with a bit of fresh whipped cream. You can contact a local orchard for fruit discounts, donations, or maye even some cider :)

Yum, the pancakes and lil smokies sounds like a winner to me. Now I'm hungry lol. You can also make pancake mini muffins at home and then you wont have to cook them there. You just prepare the pancake mix like normal but poor the batter in the mini muffin pan. Then they just dunk them in their syrup. Great for kids!

Are you a member of Costco or BJs or one of the other warehouse stores?

My school does breakfast twice a year. I collect $2 or so per kid, and hit BJs. I buy croissants, muffins, rugalagh, poptarts, and anything else that looks "breakfasty." Throw in a few gallons of juice, and we're good to go.
