I am finally getting back on track after a several month lapse in exercising and watching what I ate. In September 2003 I was hospitalized for blood clots in my lungs and at that time it was discovered that I have type 2 diabetes. A lifestyle change needed to take place, and it did. I started exercising (walking, Walk-Away-The Pounds) and eating better. I dropped 41 pounds going from 208 (I am barely 5' tall by the way) down to 167 and I felt GREAT and looked BETTER THAN I HAD IN SEVERAL YEARS!!! But! Over the next few months I gradually went back to my old lifestyle. Not exercising and not being careful of what I ate. A few weeks ago the scales showed me in a very clear way what I was doing to myself. I was back up to...gulp...190 pounds. At that rate I knew it wouldn't be much longer before I would have put it ALL back on and I DID NOT WANT THAT!! So, I am BACK ON TRACK and it feels GREAT!! Watching what I eat again, and exercising. I finally got my treadmill back from my daughter and my goal is to walk 30-35 minutes a day on it, 5 days a week. I'm happy to say I'm back down to 182 and am really going to try hard to get back to 168 before our cruise on January 15. And THIS TIME I want to REALLY stick with it and get down to 158 so I can say I've lost FIFTY POUNDS, and then see how I feel about going further down.
