Chat?

Last week I was able to contact Member Services through the chat. I did it from the main DVC page, not logged into my membership.I'd like to use chat again but, since then, I have not been able to access the chat again. It's always been grayed out when I try. When and how do you have success using chat?
 
It comes and goes as they are working with a member. It’s usually always appeared within ten minutes for me I usually just keep flipping between the dashboard and help page until it appears.
 
You just have to wait. I too have had it there more often lately but as mentioned, it’s always been less than 10 minutes of playing around the site to get it!
 

So when it says chat is not currently available that may change in a few minutes? I thought it meant it wasn’t working today at all - maybe they should change that wording.

It means all agents are currently busy. Once one is available it will change to "Chat" and you can start a session. They work the same hours as the phones are open.

it really needs to be more consistent. they should have set hours and have it posted.

It's a pretty consistent bug. If you're logged in, your chances of getting a chat unavailable is higher. If you ever see that and you're logged in, just click log out and refresh the main page. That has always immediately given me a chat option once I do that.

If you believe in conspiracy theories one might say they are pushing existing members to the phones and keeping the chat free for those who may be interested in purchasing. But once the chat shows up, they've always been able to help me out with any issues I had so it's not isolated to just purchases.

They have two different sets of chats available and the CMs dealing with sales are not part of MS.

I made the mistake once by clicking on the wrong one and got sales.
 
Yep me too. And they sounded online grumpy that I was chatting an Ms question to their sales rep chat. Sigh!
 
If this the same chat that pops up to the right middle of the screen when you log out? I've done it several times and never had an issue. I've modified reservations dates, added people, put in room requests through it with no attitude or comments about it not being the right chat.
