Chasing Wedding Guests for replies

[A whole new world]

I've had such a pain this past few weeks trying to chase up guests replies for my at home reception. I've told people i need to know by the end of September as i need to pay for final numbers. How many times would you chase someone before you write them off your list? Did anyone else have the same trouble?

I've even got my parents chasing people. I just find it so rude that some people cant decide if their coming or not. I don't mind if they do or don't i just want an answer. I know full well that after the closing date people will just expect to be added. Most people automatically expect you to know there coming even though they haven't replied to you.

Does anyone else find this inconsiderate or am i just being a bridezilla?

we had people pull out on the day and didnt even tell us!! its a nightmare

Ugh don't even get me started on this subject . There were like 3 people who sent back their RSVPs. I had to call everyone else and ask them if they were coming. It was ridiculous - I mean I put a stamp on the envelope for a reason. I got a lot of "oh I lost the rsvp card" - well then pick up a phone and call me! I really didn't care if they came or not - I just needed an answer.

Its not the end of September yet though. You still have a week. They technically aren't late yet.

A friend of mine had this problem, and got very upset so I volunteered to make some phone calls. I did not know ANY of the people I called and honestly, I think it was much easier for me to do it that way. People didnt feel guilty telling me they couldnt go, whereas with her they were like "ill try, we really want to go blah blah" They dont want to offend you or your parents, so have someone arbitrary call. Someone blunt yet polite that can say to them "we just need a yes or no.... no explanation necessary"


Im telling you, it works! Try a bridesmaid!
