Dumb question. Can I pay the balance of my cruise with the Chase Rewards card? Paid the deposit with my Chase Visa.
Thanks!!

Yes, of course. Disney will take your money is any form whatsoever!

I paid my deposit with my chase Disney card! 3 big benefits: Disney reward points! They're little but they add up! Also, if you mention you're a Disney Chase member, you get a $50 on board credit. Just call DCL and remind them if it's a 2016 cruise. 2017 cruises will likely be eligible for the promotion this summer or fall. And lastly, no interest financing for six months since it's a Disney Reservation!

To get the $50 onboard credit, you must pay for the entire cruise with your Disney Visa. You can't get it for just having the card, or even for paying just part of your cruise with the card. I have heard, but cannot confirm, that they will allow the $50 onboard credit if you pay for part of the cruise fare with your rewards card in addition to your Disney Visa.

We save all the points up that we earn in between cruises and then use them to pay part of the activities and purchases on board. It is super easy to do.

You have to pay the entire fare with your disney visa (not rewards) to get the $50 on board credit. You cannot prepay on your account (for tips or spending money) with anything besides your disney visa if you want that $50 credit. You can pay your tips etc with your rewards or anything else once you are on the ship and still get the $50 OBC.

Also, to get the $50 on board credit, you have to call dcl before your trip and ask them to put the $50 credit on your account. It will not automatically appear on your account. It has to be requested before you sail.

The $50 used to be for anything, then changed to beverages only (we used for bottled water/smoothies), so has it changed back to being good for anything again?

I've always thought about getting the Chase Rewards card. Besides the $50 onboard credit, are there any other perks specifically for DCL?

When I opened mine while booking a cruise online, it also gave me $200 off my cruise. Not sure if they offer that anymore. This was a while ago

Is this new as I have taken only 4 Disney Cruises but always pay with a combo of Disney Reward Points & our Disney Visa and always have gotten the $50.00 credit for beverages?

When were your cruises? The "must pay entire cruise cost via Disney Visa for OBC (regardless if it's beverage only or general)" thing has been in effect at least since 2011.

If you got the OBC since then and didn't pay for the full reservation (deposit to final payment) with the Disney VISA card, you got lucky.

My oct 2015 and Feb 2016 cruises were paid for with a combo of rewards points and the Disney visa, and I got the $50 credit on both of them. I specifically asked before I used the rewards points, and was told Disney considers using the rewards points the same as using the visa, as the visa was used to earn the points. I was told this both times. I think final payment for the Feb cruise was last Oct or so, so if this has changed, it's been very recently.

I just opened mine and they offered the $200 as a statement credit if you spend $500+ in the first couple of months or something like that. My credit came right away after paying for the deposit so it was worth it to me!
