I am heading to Charlotte this Saturday and my youngest daughter is going with me. After we finish my errands, I would like to take her to the mall for some clothes, etc. I haven't been to Charlotte in years, so I don't know which mall has the best pre-teen/teen clothes. Any ideas from the Charlotte area dissers would be appreciated.

Concord Mills is in Concord which is just a few minutes outside Charlotte. It is a huge mall with lots of variety. You can go to their website and see if you would be interested in going there. They even have a Disney store. :goodvibes

In Charlotte, I would go to either Southpark Mall or Carolina Place in Pineville. I prefer Carolina Place. It has a Disney Store too.

DO NOT go to Eastland Mall.

Eastland no longer exists as a mall.

I second Carolina Place. I was there in May. They have a little of everything!

I went to Concord Mills and I was less than impressed. Maybe it was the layout (those "neighborhoods" made it hard to navigate), maybe it was the store selection, I don't know. Other than the VF Outlet, there wasn't much there that thrilled me.

It really depends on where you are running your errands.

There is Carolina Place, Southpark, Concord Mills, and Northlake. Southpark has more upscale stores than the others. Concord Mills doesn't have an anchor store such as Macy's, Belk, or Dillards. It depends on what kind of clothing stores you are looking for.

I'll be at the IKEA.

you will be right around the corner from Northlake Mall. It is fairly new and pretty nice.

If you are at IKEA, you are much closer to Concord Mills than to Southpark or Carolina Place.

Concord Mills is an "outlet mall" with Off 5th, TJMaxx, Old Navy, Guess, etc. My 17 year old loved Concord Mills when she was a preteen.

Carolina Place and SouthPark are probably 30-45 minutes from IKEA.

Where is NorthLake located? I didn't realize there was a mall in the northern area.

Northlake is near Huntersville. Its right off I-77 but I can't remember the exact exit number.

If your at IKEA your only 5-10 minutes from Concord Mills. Just head north up 85 a few miles and your there.

Thanks to all of you for the information. I'll get the addresses so I can plug those into the GPS.

And this is tax free weekend in North Carolina. Clothes, shoes, school supplies, lots of stuff are tax free this weekend. Happy shopping!!

It is here too but that usually means the stores have sales too. Thanks for the info!

We love Northlake Mall! We make the drive there when we need to hit a mall for shopping......that is if we need the anchor department store like Belk or Dillards. We prefer it over Soutpark.
We like Concord Mills too. We were just there two days ago. I have to admit that the Coach Factory store is a weakness for me! I always seem to get a 20% off coupon so I really can't let it go to waste......:rolleyes1
