Charley's Steakhouse ?

We are staying offsite near the convention center and plan on eating here one night.Does anyone know how close this is?Any reviews also would be great.I am not talking about the chain O'Charley's but the steakhouse rated in the top 10 nation wide.Thanks.

OMG, I can't believe it! I was just going to start a thread recommending Charlie's when I came across yours.

Well, let me tell you, this place is great! One of the guys in DH's office raved so much about it, saying how his family never misses a dinner there when they are at WDW. So for our '03 trip we had to try it. We are so glad we did. We ended up going there twice during that trip. This coming trip we are hoping to again eat there twice. There are 2 locations, one in Orlando and one in Kissimee. We went to the Kissimee one which is near the intersection of 192 and I-4. The steaks are aged and out of this world. They bring out samples of the different cuts on a platter before you order and tell you a little about each one. My DS14 had lamb chops and DS11 had fried shrimp and I tried both of those and they were also very good. They do have a children's menu. The atmosphere is nice with lots of dark wood. There is a window where you can watch the steaks being cooked over the open fire. (They use citrus wood.) For the quality of the food, I don't think it was that expensive. Our family of six ate for $86 (not incl. tip). That was for 3 adult meals and 2 children's meals. We didn't do appetizers, alcohol or desserts. Our two youngest split a children's meal. The portions are large and we brought stuff home in "doggie bags". The steak is even great cold on a sandwich the next day! You won't be sorry.

Beware: the aroma of the steaks cooking will start your mouth watering while you are still in the parking lot!

Edited to say: OK-I just visited their website. They didn't have one back in 2003. It looks like they have 4 locations now. Check it out.

We were in Disney for our honeymoon in 1998 and the guy in the lobby of our hotel recommended Charlie's steakhouse to us so we decided to give it a try. Let me tell you we talk about this place ALL of the time, it is INCREDIBLe, the best steak myself or my husband has ever had, we can't wait to go back!!! Definitely a MUST DO!

Thanks for the replies.I am going with DH for a business trip,so we don't care what it costs!!!From looking at the website I think we made a great choice!I'll be there eating 2 weeks from tonight!I'll post a review when we return.
