Charley is getting close

Well, we have been sitting here all day just waiting. I wanted to head to Georgia a few nights ago but we thought that was blowing things out of preportion. So then what happens, it turns right for Orlando. They are talking about 100 mph winds......wow. We have blankets and pillows in the tub and a baby mattress to put over us. I think I am more worried about the tornado's more then anything. In Michigan we had basements or cellar's but here we have nothing so hopefully the tub will do. Please say prayers for all of us in the path. Especially those that came here on vacation to WDW who were stuck in the middle of this all.

I must be pretty terrible. Here we are just hours from a hurricane and what am I doing.....DISing I think I am at the point where I can't think about it anymore, just gotta let it happen. So I will be here until the wind picks up.

My heart breaks for all of you dealing with this! I can't imagine the fright associated with something like this!!! The only thing we have to fear is a huge earthquake....but no one can predict that so at least you got some kind of warning!


I pray you are safe and that the damage and storm isn't severe but I am wondering if that is possible given the magnitude of this storm!

I know exactly how you feel, I was doing the same thing while waiting for it to hit my area............glad it didn't but sorry to hear it is headed your way. I think once you are prepared the waiting is the toughest so you turn to your buddys on the disboards Disney makes us all happy. I had my inside closets all prepared to spend the night in so I took a nap this afternoon thinking that I was going to be up all night since it was predicted to hit Tampa at 8pm this evening, when I woke up it had turned! We have had very little rain and so far no high winds..........so my prayers are with you and your family, I don't want to go through this again for awhile!

I have been doing the same thing all-day... It helps....Charley isn't due here until 2:00am

Sounds scary, but you also seem to be very prepared. I suppose DISing is the best thing to do while you're waiting. As long as your ready, you can head for the safety of your closets when it gets closer.

I have been praying for you guys all day, and I am hoping and praying that WDW doesn't suffer any major damage either. I have my weatherbug set to WDW zipcode and the alerts have been going off all day.

I have the Swan/dolphin cam on the weather bug & have been watching too, I can see spaceship earth, and as long as I keep seeing it I will feel ok. It looks like it is getting very dark over in that area right now.

Our trip is one week away as of tomorrow, so we are kind of waiting to see what will happen too.
