I have been praying all day.

Could someone tell me what is expected in the Tampa area. I have 4 very very close friends there and am worried sick about them.

Checking in from Orlando too. This thing is going to be devestating to this area. It's changed direction and we are gonna get blasted. Winds are at 145 now and expected to increase.

I just got off the phone with one of our fellow Disers 'firstmickey' who is at the POR~

She just called & said that everyone there seems to be going into panic mode.......they've moved the campers into the POR.....RVs in the parking lot....campers in the lobby.......the food court is crazy........she said "Tell everyone to pray that we make it through this ok"...................

Also, I'm directionally challenged and we've got family friends in West Palm. Where is that in relation to where the storm is going?

I talked to my Mom (Poohlovr) who is there too earlier. She said everything was tied down i.e. the benches at the boatlaunch at the SD were tied to each other and to the bldg. pillars. Hoping and praying everybody down there stays safe!

Prayers to everyone in Florida who is affected by this horrible hurricane. My uncle lives in a mobile home in North Ft. Myers. I have to assume he has moved to a safer place during this.

For everyone in Orlando that wasn't quite prepared, extra prayers for you.

Beth, I talked to Bet last night, and she posted here this AM, she has gone to the old YMCA bldg in DT Tampa. I got a PM from MS, she is staying with Leila, some distance away from the target, I could not get through to PM. Hoping Barry, who lives in Fort Meyers, is safe and sound.

Looks bad for us in South West Florida and even ORlando as it has changed course and going up to a Cat 4. Have made a safe room out of my bathroom and will have the family in it if it gets too nasty. prayers are appreciated.

CHecking in from Okeechobee (if you look at florida you'll see a hole in the middle... that's the lake. I live directly north of it 1 mile)...

It's been raining off and on here and from the looks of it, might just swerve this-a-way. Right now it's deadly quiet with no wind whatsoever and it's overcast with orange skies... All this at 2 in the evening. Might be my last post for a while so i'll leave with my zip code if you guys wanna watch on weather.com... it's 34974
